Pulsar Mouse Linux, an unofficial configuration tool for Pulsar gaming mice on Linux, has been released in version v0.1.16.
The update follows version 0.1.15 and improves switching between cable and dongle: detection now takes only a few hundred milliseconds instead of up to a minute. The battery display also receives continuous updates and no longer shows stale data from disconnected devices.
Following the mouse across a swap, properly this time
- Battery reporting: Mouse battery data now arrives continuously rather than only during polling intervals, with the Fusion2 mice voluntarily providing charging status and percentage data.
- Connection detection: Swap detection improved from taking up to a minute to detecting within a few hundred milliseconds (348-352ms observed) through event listener monitoring.
- Battery state file: No longer displays stale data from disconnected devices; removed upon swap and rewritten from the newly connected device.
- Retry logic: Initial reads after a swap attempt up to three times (1.5-second intervals) to account for devices not being immediately ready post-connection.
- Dongle tracking: Shared dongles are queried for which mouse they carry before disconnection, enabling proper device tracking.
- Resource cleanup: Event listeners and file descriptors are properly released when windows are destroyed during swaps, preventing thread and file descriptor leaks.
