OpenLogi: open-source alternative to Logitech Options+ released in version v0.8.18

OpenLogi has been released in version v0.8.18.

OpenLogi is a native, locally running alternative to Logitech Options+, written in Rust, letting you configure key bindings, DPI and SmartShift for Logitech devices over HID++ - without an account or telemetry.

The update follows version v0.8.17. New are controls for disabling keys, a keyboard backlight duration setting, a press-force setting for the MX Master 4 Haptic Sense Panel and an updated Tokio due to a security advisory.

Changes in version v0.8.18:

  • Release tooling: use GitHub’s generated release notes instead of a custom AI-generated job, fix Sparkle delta naming, cut betas from a workflow at their own version
  • Agent: add stdin control console for the mock agent, reapply volatile settings after a dead channel is replaced
  • Devices: bound Bolt receiver identity reads, add capability-bound force-sensing buttons, add press-force setting for the MX Master 4 Haptic Sense Panel
  • Desktop: add guarded disable-keys controls and a keyboard backlight duration timer
  • Windows: fix Actions Ring overlay drawing without a window frame, fix key handling for keys that layouts can move
  • CLI: route backlight operations through the agent
  • Localization: translate disable-keys strings into 22 locales, translate several Czech strings
  • Assets: follow the 0.1 asset release line, query the jsDelivr data API for the newest asset release
  • Dependencies: update Tokio to address an AsyncFd soundness advisory
  • Docs: clarify that beta tags come only from the prerelease workflow
