OpenLogi: open-source alternative to Logitech Options+ released in version v0.8.16

OpenLogi has been released in version v0.8.16.

OpenLogi is a native, locally running alternative to Logitech Options+, written in Rust, letting you configure key bindings, DPI and SmartShift for Logitech devices over HID++ - without an account or telemetry.

The main feature is for macOS (shortcuts via a virtual HID keyboard). Across platforms, it also adds a precision mode with DPI LED, pointer speed controls for certain mice, desktop switching via three-finger swipe and more stable thumb-wheel reporting.

Changes in version v0.8.16:

Shortcut keys now go through a virtual HID keyboard (macOS), named “OpenLogi Virtual Keyboard”, instead of software key events. Fallback to legacy key injection if virtual keyboard creation fails. Only signed release builds include this feature.

  • precision mode support for mice with adjustable DPI, with DPI LED illumination
  • pointer speed controls for 0x2205 mice
  • desktop switching via three-finger swipe simulation
  • restore thumb-wheel reporting
  • safer zone writing, battery status decoding fixes, settings sync after sensor calibration
  • relaunch the agent when Input Monitoring permission is granted after launch
  • ship Sparkle delta updates
