DXVK-Sarek: DXVK fork for older hardware released in version 1.14.0

DXVK-Sarek, a fork of DXVK, has been released in version v1.14.0.

DXVK-Sarek is an unofficial continuation of the DXVK 1.10.x branch that backports new configurations, bug fixes and improvements while keeping compatibility with legacy and low-end hardware.

Version 1.14.0 replaces the chunk allocator with upstream’s page and pool allocators, which should fix memory creep in long sessions and OOM crashes. It also brings a new WSI implementation (fixes alt-tab issues), D7VK v2.2 and several bug fixes.

This is an unofficial DXVK 1.10.x build designed to support users still relying on the 1.10.x branch by backporting configurations, fixes, and features.

  • Missing extensions now appear in logs after device creation; DXVK_HUD=devinfo displays [DEGRADED] status when extensions are unavailable
  • New debug feature: DXVK_SAREK_STRICT=1 makes optional extensions required
  • Replaced chunk allocator with upstream page and pool allocators, fixing memory creep during extended sessions and OOM crashes
  • DXVK_HUD=memory now shows usage relative to heap budget
  • Replaced util_monitor with modified upstream wsi/ implementation, improving backporting and fixing alt-tab issues
  • DXGI now reports occlusion on minimized windows and exits fullscreen when occluded
  • Backport D7VK v2.2 with per-stage color keying support
  • Added d3d9.splitSamplerSlots to resolve D3D9 black screen issues on MoltenVK
  • Fixed garbled text in Civilization VI
  • Fixed resinfo out-of-bounds issues

Requirements: Vulkan 1.1 capable GPU and driver, Wine 7.1+ or Proton-CachyOS with PROTON_DXVK_SAREK=1
