Hypseus Singe: Laserdisc emulator in version 3.0.2 released

Hypseus Singe has been released in version 3.0.2.

Hypseus Singe is an emulator for classic laserdisc arcade games, built on Daphne and Singe, running on Linux, macOS, Windows, and Raspberry Pi among others.

Shortly after the move to SDL3, this release continues the SDL3 transition. Highlights are a fix for a long standing sound speedup at game startup, the new -preserve_aspect_ratio argument (or PRESERVEASPECT) for aspect ratio preservation on non-16:9 displays, and drawing the game overlay over bezels via -overlaybezel.

Further SDL3 transitions.

  • Fine tune vldp_audio_callback to utilize SDL3 streaming efficiently.
  • Added the ability to retrieve the number of connected “relative mice” in API
  • Altered example .ini files so direct copies are sane for most users.
  • Removed misplaced SDL_free when detecting MAX_GAMECONTROLLER Joysticks.
  • Removed -sound_buffer to preserve new SDL3 audio stream timing.
  • Updated distributed gamecontrollerdb.txt where appropriate.
  • Improved alignment in the tms9128 Goal to Go play tactic menu.
  • Argument added to preserve video aspect ratio in non-standard displays.
  • Fixed an SDL3 caused overflow in the DAC sound driver [MACH3].
  • Blitting the game overlay on top of a game bezel is now supported.
  • Serialize the sound CHIP updates via Mutex lock_guards.
  • Add API call to flip bi-linear scaling on the overlay.
  • Trim [GLOBAL] .ini section in auto-generated files.
  • Add controlled HINTING and BLEND for SDL3_TTF fonts.
  • Treat // in ZipROM, as on a filesystem.
