SaveState: save file backup tool released in version 2.9

SaveState has been released in version v2.9 “Multi-Selection & Cloud Refinement”.

The tool is a user-friendly GUI application for Windows and Linux that lets you back up and restore video game save files, preventing progress loss and keeping saves in sync across multiple devices via cloud storage.

The update brings improved Google Drive support for AppImage installs, a reworked multi-selection interface for batch profile generation, and refinements to RetroArch detection.

Google Drive & AppImage Support: “Manual Callback Fallback” enables offline environments to complete OAuth by pasting authorization URLs. Credentials now reside in system app data directories, resolving persistence issues on AppImage deployments. Threading locks prevent concurrent auth requests, with improved error diagnostics logged during connection failures.

Multi-Selection Interface Enhancements: Tristate checkboxes replace binary select-all buttons in dialog headers. List widgets now support extended selection for batch profile generation across dozens of games simultaneously. A unified selection highlighting system applies consistent styling through a reusable delegate component.

RetroArch Architecture Refinements: Full support for unstructured environments enables core mapping in flat directory structures. Configuration discovery expands across Windows AppData, LocalAppData, and Microsoft Store installations. Recursive file traversal with depth safeguards prevents scan hangs while maintaining accurate game listing accuracy.
