Artifacting only in linux
4080 super, 7800x3d, linux mint. This happens only in linux, including other distros i tried, but not in windows. I have resolution set to 4k but no fractional scaling and it has done this in Gnome and KDE and Cinnamon. Any ideas as to why it does this?

Fragpunk showing weird colors
I just tried installing and playing fragpunk through steam with GE-Proton9-27 and it shows these weird colors in the title screen and when selecting a gamemode.
I also tried these launch options suggested on protondb but it just made it not work entirely:

How does Wayland work in gaming?
Hi, trying to understand how games work when it comes to Wayland, Is it something like where each game needs to individually support/be compatible with Wayland or is it more of a proton/wine being compatible thing?

[Linux Mint] Modrinth launcher not working – tried .deb, AppImage & Flatpak
Hi folks,
I'm having trouble getting the Modrinth launcher to work on Linux Mint 22.1 and have tried all available installation methods:
What I tried:- AppImage: Worked for one session (Modrinth UI was very laggy, but Minecraft itself ran fine). After that, it just closes a few seconds after appearing in the panel ("taskbar"), with no error message.
- .deb version: Initially showed a short error message (no longer reproducible), now it also closes shortly after appearing in the panel, without any error.
- Flatpak (v0.9.4): Launches and shows up in the taskbar, but after a few seconds I get a “Modrinth is not responding” message.
- Distro: Linux Mint 22.1
- Desktop Environment: Cinnamon
- Java: OpenJDK 21.0.6
- GPU: NVIDIA RTX 4070 Ti SUPER (OpenGL 4.6.0 NVIDIA 550.144.03)
- Flatpak Runtime: org.gnome.Platform 47
Has anyone found a workaround or knows what's causing this?
Any help is appreciated – happy to test things or provide more logs if needed.

Is there a bug with 10 bit color on NVIDIA cards? (RTX 4070 driver: 570.133.07-0ubuntu0.24.04.1 Kernal:6.11.0-25)
For the life of me I can't seem to seem to get 10 bit enabled on 570-open "570.133.07-0ubuntu0.24.04.1" and adding "GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT="quiet splash nvidia_modeset.hdmi_deepcolor=1"" to grub and yes I updated grub as well. I still see no option in NVIDIA settings. A lot of fixes online seem out of date or irreverent to NVIDIA cards. the release notes outright say that 10 bit color "Enabled HDMI 10 bits per component support by default; disable by loading nvidia-modeset with `hdmi_deepcolor=0`." as of 555.42.02. I'm on display port on a 10 bit monitor. I'm on Mint 22.1 xfce Xorg RTX 4070. Is this a bug or intended effect or am I missing something? I just want this to work for blender and maybe proton I know in the past vulkan had issues.

Is there a bug with Linux kernel 6.14.x for refresh rates above 120hz? Samsung Odyssey G9, 5120 x 1400 @ 240hz has random screen flicker (AMD 9070 XT)
I noticed this when I was testing Fedora 42. I set everything up, resolution, refresh rate, HDR, etc and suddenly my screen goes black for 1-3 seconds and comes back like nothing happened. I went through many different settings and couldn't figure it out, until I changed the refresh rate to 119 hz and the problem went away.
I then went to Manjaro, same deal. Tried Gnome, KDE, Cosmic, Wayland or X11, and all the same deal - on Kernel 6.14.5.
Through a long weekend of distro hopping, I went back to Pop 22.04. I went back to kernel 6.13.8 and no issues, but I left Pop because I couldn't update my kernel and was getting weird gpu artifacts. Curiously, I installed Xanmod 6.14.4 and the screen flicker was back at 240hz.
Currently on latest Endeavor and loving it. Latest Mesa (25.0.5), amdgpu drivers (4/18), and Zen kernel (6.14.4). Only issue is the screen flicker at 240hz.
So has anyone else had this issue? I guess it shouldn't be too big of an issue since even with the 9070 XT I'm not going to see framerates that high lol.

I'm Having Trouble Launching Minecraft on Debian
A couple years ago, I got Minecraft through Linux because I currently use a Chromebook. There were no problems with it launching or having to do anything in the terminal to get it started. About 4 months ago, I took a break from Minecraft but didn't delete or remove anything from my laptop. A week ago, I tried getting back on, but once I clicked on the Minecraft Launcher icon that I had always used before, the loading circle would twirl around the icon and nothing would happen. Minecraft wouldn't and still won't launch. I have waited long periods of time in case it was just being slow, I have deleted the program and redownloaded it, and I have put some commands through terminal that I got from youtube, but it still just sits there loading. If anyone has any idea on what to do, I would be very thankful if it got back up and running again.

Control incompatibility
I recently switched from Windows to Linux, but I have a problem: my Mocute-053 bluetooth controller is not recognized by programs and emulators. The control is recognized as "Mocute-053-PC" or in another mode as "Wireless controller", in the bluetooth options it has a control symbol but it is recognized nowhere. I've already tried the "Qjoypad" and "Antmicrox" programs and neither of them worked It works perfectly on my Android phone and it worked on my Windows 10, only now that I switched to Linux it is not recognized. What can I do to resolve this problem?

New here, What distro do you reccomand for an igpu laptop? (windows is pain, I have 32gb of ram with only one tab of browser open = 44% 😧)
I'm considering switching to Linux so I can hopefully get better gaming experience (even though I only have an igpu laptop 😅). My laptop configuration: Lg Gram 17inch (1600p,60hz), Core i7 12th gen, 32gb ram, 1 tb ssd. I would rather have a plug-and-play distro, don't know much about terminal. my games are: Minecraft, trackmania, titanfall 2 (low settings of course 😅), mechabreak (played the beta, waiting fir the release)

Linux for gaming and Mac for everything else
Kind of curious what your guys' opinion on this. I gave my old pc to my brother which rocked a windows 10. I started my video editing career with that PC 4 years ago, built it 6 years ago. Had many ups and downs with it, blue screens of death, Premiere Pro crashing, etc. good times. It still does work well with games at 1080p (i58400 and rtx 2060), but it's definitely showing its age compared to my mac mini m4 I bought recently when it comes to my line of work.
My video editing experience is night and day. But honestly, even with everything else, once you get the hang of MacOS, the experience is just overall better, especially for anything work related. The experience is just smoother.
Obviously, where it falls short is gaming, at least with the gaming I want to do, games like GOW ragnarok. I'm thinking, I'll get a gaming PC and install linux on it and have a dual setup.
I'm curious, does anyone have a setup like this, wanted to know how your experience has been so far.

Strange Graphics issues with KOTOR2 on Ubuntu 22.04
Basically what the title says. Whenever I launch KOTOR2 on Ubuntu 22.04, I get these weird texture glitches:
I haven't been able to find any information online (or at least I don't know how to describe the issue to find the solution).
My system is a Lenovo ThinkPad T420 with an Intel i7-2860QM, and Intel HD Graphics 3000 integrated GPU
EDIT: I should add that this is through Steam
