My indie game, UNDEFEATABLE, is now in the elusive group of F2P online PVP movement shooters that support SteamOS + Linux!
When we started working on UNDEFEATABLE, linux support was always a high priority for me. I'm sure as gamers a lot of you can relate to being frustrated with needing to use windows to play your favorite shooters, so out of frustration we created our own game. I'm incredibly excited to be able to play my new favorite game without having to switch away from my comfy arch install.
If you want to support us further in our journey of making linux compatible multiplayer experiences a wishlist of the game would help a lot, additionally you can join our discord and help us playtest.

Does Linux support HDR? Or should I stay on Windows 11 for now?
I recently upgraded my desktop setup with a new OLED monitor, and the visual experience has been nothing short of stunning. The deep blacks, vibrant colors, and overall clarity make a significant difference, especially when consuming HDR content. However, since I made the switch, I’ve been wondering about how well Linux handles HDR compared to Windows 11. On Windows, HDR support seems to be more polished and integrated, particularly with newer versions of the OS and updated drivers. It’s relatively easy to enable and get running across various applications.
That said, I’ve already transitioned my laptop to Linux, and I’ve really been enjoying the experience so far. The customization options, stability, and overall control Linux offers have made it a great platform for my daily tasks. I use it for development, browsing, media consumption, and even some light gaming, and it handles all of that smoothly.
Now I’m considering doing the same with my desktop, but HDR support is a key factor for me. I’d like to know if modern Linux distributions support HDR properly, and whether certain desktop environments or drivers make a difference. Any insights or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Rocket league on heroic not launching after update BC2_Update55+487806
I have been playing rocket league on Ubuntu 24.04.2 LTS using heroic launcher for the past couple months, it worked like a charm except for a few occasions where it struggled with slow internet, until yesterday after it auto updated, then it started consistently failing to start, showing this error
SyntaxError: Unexpected token 'p', "pps = 200 "... is not valid JSON at JSON.parse (<anonymous>) at vn (/app/bin/heroic/resources/app.asar/build/main/main.js:145:1410) at Module.Fd [as launch] (/app/bin/heroic/resources/app.asar/build/main/main.js:105:7143) at Zo (/app/bin/heroic/resources/app.asar/build/main/main.js:143:1914) at Session.<anonymous> (node:electron/js2c/browser_init:2:106823) ============= End of log =============I believe the full log file doesn't contain any other useful information but you can see it here
- Heroic version : 2.17.2
I tried google searching the issue but google keeps giving me old results for old issues, any help would be very appreciated.

Rocket league lags after 1 hour of playing but gets worse with player input.
https://reddit.com/link/1lf5sho/video/dceeooebiu7f1/player
Pretty much the title, for as long as I can remember after or around 1 hour of play the game just starts to stutter causing this to frame skip, the strange thing about it, is that it seems to be input dependent, in the video if I let go of the input the game stops stuttering, even just pressing one key stops stuttering but if I use multiple keys it gets worse, as far as I know this only happens on rocket league, I havent noticed anything similar in other games, if you need more information please ask and I will provide.
System specs:
Distro -> Manjaro
cpu -> AMD R5 1600 AF
ram -> 16gb ddr4 3000mhz
gpu -> RX 6600 - Mesa drivers (open source)
psu -> 550W
Storage -> a-lot 1tb +

Mouse freezing up in games?
Okay so, I'm having a bit of an odd one. I'm on Arch+Sway. And the issue seems to be that sometimes when I'm holding down a mouse button, like to shoot, my mouse will lock up. I won't be able to move the cursor to aim at anything until I let go and click again. Though I can't seem to figure out why. This occurs both with and without gamescope as well.
Any ideas for trouble shooting this?

path tracing update for DooM the Dark Ages caused my game to just not work :p
it gets through the every logo cinematic. and sits on a black screen for like 30 seconds. then dies.
just before this, FSR wasn't working at all. (no FSR upscaling & no frame gen) i tried deleting all the save data under userdata in the steam files and running the game. didn't work. other's seem to not have that same FSR issue, but others do.
i'm using a Ryzen 9 7950X (16 core 32 threads) & a RX 7900XTX (24G video memory) on Mint 22.1
sorry if i'm not giving all the info i should give y'all ToT i've never really had these issues before. ig that shows how well Linux gaming works now huh? XD
thanks in advance

How to fix Unreal Engine OpenSSL crash on Linux?
Hi! There is a very specific version of Unreal Engine that instantly crashes your games after a few seconds of playing, the way I would fix it on windows was using this launch parameter:
cmd /c "set OPENSSL_ia32cap=:~0x20000000 && %command%
Is there any way to fix it on Linux?
Thanks!

I was banned from an Unturned server for using Linux
I don't think I can post this here, but I'd like to share this: I practically didn't use hack, I just tried to play on the server, and Boom appeared this message on my Unturned screen.
