Trying to use two command lines in steam launch options for apex

Reddit Linux_Gaming - 01. Mai 2024 - 16:39

Hey guys I'm trying to add a launch option to steam launch option, it's this line (+reticle_color "2147483648 2147483648 2147483648") but I already have this line set (WINEDLLOVERRIDES="d3dcompiler_47=n;dxgi=n,b" %command%) how do I set both lines in the launch options in steam?

Looks like we're almost there guys

Reddit Linux_Gaming - 01. Mai 2024 - 16:08

I had updated Discord recently, and accidentally I forgot that there's no way to screenshare in a Wayland session. However, looks like they're finally addressing this issue. It doesn't behave well just yet, but it's something at least

Bye Sweet Carole blends horror with what looks like classic Disney movies

Gaming on Linux - 01. Mai 2024 - 15:45
I've no idea how I missed Bye Sweet Carole being announced a good while ago, but maybe you did too and it deserves a look because it honestly looks pretty incredible. Created by Chris Darril of the Remothered series it looks like it really does blend classic Disney movies, with a more mature horror theme.

Elder scrolls online black screen

Reddit Linux_Gaming - 01. Mai 2024 - 15:21

Just decided to get this game since I heard it was compatible with Linux.

I installed the launcher with steam proton and everything works but when I launch the game I'm just greeted with a black screen and have to close it. I noticed I don't have the user settings file which people say crashes the game but when I add it nothing happens.

I've tried other proton versions but half the time the launcher never pops up. Only on experimental.

Any help?

System clock polling in Wine/Proton

Reddit Linux_Gaming - 01. Mai 2024 - 14:47

Hi, I have a very weird, specific question because I'm finally trying to get "Flashpoint Campaigns: Red Storm" running on Linux via Steam (GE-Proton 9.2). This is a wargame from a few years ago that doesn't put a lot of strain on the system but seems to use some very specific libraries (as does the sequel which doesn't work at all), but I haven't given up hope yet. I guess what's nagging me so much is the fact that those two games are the only ones out of maybe 250 I've tried that I can't get running.

So, Red Storm starts, menus appear and everything seems to run quite well when you start a scenario. As soon as the turn resolution starts the scenario doesn't really progress as it should. This game runs more or less in real time phases but after the initial few seconds, the game clock is not properly advancing. Nonetheless, some units which are supposed to join the battlefield several in-game minutes or hours later get added only after a few seconds. So things ARE happening in the background but it seems that the game somehow can't keep track of time properly.

It looks to me as if the system time polling is either not working or misinterpreted. Perhaps the game thinks that minutes or hours have passed because it reads seconds as minutes. That would explain why it doesn't update the seconds (which are needed to advance the in-game clock) but sends units onto the battlefield much earlier than they are supposed to.

I was just wondering if anyone has ever encountered something similar in another game and if there are any things you can think of that I might try to fix this issue. For what it's worth, I don't think this has anything to do with CPU speed or Vsync or refresh rate, because the game runs well on Windows with the same hardware and screen settings.

Thank you!

We would love some help with testing our game!

Reddit Linux_Gaming - 01. Mai 2024 - 14:01

Hi there good people! We are in the final phases of releasing our latest game The Fate of Baldr. We already know that the game works pretty well on Windows, MacOS and the Steam Deck. However we would love to get a few testers to test our Linux version as well.

Send me a PM or go to our Discord server and message me there for a Playtest key on Steam and some further instructions.

Thanks in advance and have a great day! :)
