Proton 9 / Experimental crashes for every game at startup (Kernel 6.2)

Reddit Linux_Gaming - 03. April 2024 - 12:46

Good day everyone, I have an issue that I'm unable to find in internet if it's happening for anyone else, but I can reproduce it consistently.

Since Proton 9 (beta) was added, if I force to use it for any game, the game will crash at startup silently, not even trying to start. This also happens on Experimental, which I guess is based on 9 now.

I don't see anything clearly wrong on Proton log (PROTON_LOG=1) but I'll be happy to share here if anyone wants to check

I'm using Linux Mint 21.3 with Kernel 6.2 (6.5 is actually available but it doesn't work totally well in my PC - HiDPI res issue and Wifi issues MT7921)

Does anyone know or can point me if this is a known issue?

SKSE issues after installing Nemesis

Reddit Linux_Gaming - 03. April 2024 - 12:45

Hi everyone,

I have been having issues trying to get Nemesis to work with Sky UI (through MO2) on (PopOS) Linux. I installed and updated the game, installed SKSE64 and Nemesis (manually, then ran both update engine and launch Nemesis from the application shortcut in MO2) and started the game. Everything worked fine (from a new character). I installed SkyUI, and immediately the game gave error code 1 (SKSE not running). Does anyone know how to fix this? I've searched forums for days about this and yet no success. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

THE FINALS said "minimal requirement of THE FINALS is to play it on a PC with Windows 10" when I say I'm a Linux user.

Reddit Linux_Gaming - 03. April 2024 - 12:26

I'm not sure Flair is correct if it is not please let me know.

For context in THE FINALS there is a Discord quest that happening right now, discord couldn't manage see THE FINALS via Discord-RPC on wine/proton, so I thought Embark Studios would understand and provide me a reward quest or help me with that also quest is very is just share the screen with THE FINALS with 15 min.

So created a support ticket there is a Discord quest that happening right now, discord couldn't manage to get Discord-RPC from

I'm sorry you have experienced issues like this. One of the minimal requirements of THE FINALS is to play it on a PC with Windows 10. Another is to claim the Skill Issue Set, please make sure that you are watching the Discord stream with your friend and that THE FINALS is open to your end as well for you to see the percentage progress. I hope this helps.

The Ticket Content I sent:

Hi Embark Studios I'm a linux user, I cannot progress with "Skill Issue Set" quest on discord because of discord cannot see the finals with proton. I'm day one user and I really like the game but I wish I could get the reward like normal users. Thanks for your understanding. https://discord.com/channels/1008696016318513243/1009830123463266365/1224763648287834202

I'm wrong or this just means "We don't give F" What do you think?

Also to be noted I really like the game I've been playing since S1 day 1 so I'm not trying to make the game look bad I just wish I could get my reward like other windows users.

Lastly, does Anyone have any idea how to workaround, I tried some rpc bridges but didn't work for some reason.

Thanks for reading.

Any fix to have discord screen share with audio on Fedora ?

Reddit Linux_Gaming - 03. April 2024 - 11:08

I just installed Fedora and it's pretty great distro, but i still have this same issue with Linux in general : Discord doesn't allow to share screen or app with audio.

I installed Discord-screenaudio , but now i can just share the image, but no audio.

I saw a ton of topics about it, but can't find real solution.

Any fix ?
