Wuthering wave strange input problem on Linux (Steam)

Reddit Linux_Gaming - 5 Jan 2026 - 6:09pm

I have this peculiar issue with Wuthering Waves, the game runs, but mouse UI doesn't work, if i put the game on my wacom monitor and enable touch i can interact with the menu using the touch feature and if i use my mouse and cursor and click it will interact exactly where i touched the screen last even tho the cursor is somewhere else.

Tried plugging in my Xbox controller and inputs do not work, if i press the Xbox logo i get steam overlay so the controller itself does work, on other games it has no problems.

I tried on Hyprland and KDE and the problem is the same, tried with gamescope but no luck there either, on Nobara 43.

The game runs flawlessly other than that, i can turn my camera with the mouse do attacks and such, i can use my keyboard to move without any issue, just getting into menus i can't do anything with my mouse.

Sell Rtx 4080 for rx 9070xt?

Reddit Linux_Gaming - 5 Jan 2026 - 6:07pm

How much is the linux experience going to be with amd gpu? I know i would have better HWA with all browser. witch nvidia only have with firefox based browser. I know you could pick the color bit rate with amd but not with nvidia. I know the performance loss is not the same, Amd suffers bearly 5% give or take but nvidia losses around 20% on linux, So is selling the rtx 4080 for 3000sar and buying the rx 9700xt for 2700sar worth it ? And i also wanna enjoy the console like session(steam deck gamescope session) that know works better with amd and fine with nvidia as long as i stay at 2k. And how is the hdmi 2.1 support for amd mess driver ?

One more thing i use rtx video hdr alot on windows and found an alternative on linux that works with mpv well it work with amd gpues ?

I mean sorry for the messy post my mind is in a mess and i cant make my mind

Controller not working on clair obscure

Reddit Linux_Gaming - 5 Jan 2026 - 6:04pm

Hello!

I recently switched from windows 10 to Pop_os and everything is working smoothy but for some reason when I try to play Clair Obscure with my ps5 controller It just doesn't work, I even tried using steam input but it didn't help.
In all the other games I have tried it worked flawlessly with or without steam input.

I'm using proton 9 and and nvidia RTX3060.
What could I try to solve the problem? Thanks!

Games run better on Linux than on Windows

Reddit Linux_Gaming - 5 Jan 2026 - 5:21pm

I get about 15-30 fps more using Linux. Games that i tested are not natively supported by linux. Indiana Jones and Metaphor:Refantazio as examples.

Indiana Jones on Windows without frame gen i get 40-45 fps. On linux without frame gen i get 56-70 fps.

Metaphor Refantazio on Windows 40-55 fps. On linux 70-100 fps.

I suspect such increase is due to higher CPU and RAM usage on Wndows.

My distro: CachyOS Laptop: Legion 5 Pro with RTX 3070 mobile RAM: 16 GB

Gaming on Steam

Reddit Linux_Gaming - 5 Jan 2026 - 4:31pm

Hello everyone. Another Linux gamer needs your help. I recently decided to try using steam natively as the launcher for my games, since I heard that it's pretty good now. Until then I was just launching the exe files via Faugus launcher. I installed the required Proton packages and set everything up as needed (enabling proton, choosing the version and for a good meassure even forcing proton) and tried launching my game, which I know my laptop can play, but nothing happened. It just started, displayed nothing and then shut down. I tried several different Proton versions, but nothing helped. I'll be grateful for any advice on how to resolve this. Oh and also, I'm using Fedora linux. Thanks in advance.

LACT Nvidia OC Clarifications

Reddit Linux_Gaming - 5 Jan 2026 - 3:09pm

I have a GTX 4080 and im looking to OC using LACT. I used afterburner extensively for years and had a good stable OC for my 4080 and want to replicate that in linux using LACT but im not sure about the P state settings and the offsets.

First question is, should i only be using P State 0?

Second question, are the offsets the same as afterburner? So, if i had a +150 core and a +750 memory in Afterburner, would i use those same offsets in the GPU P0 and VRAM P0?

Thanks for any help!
