8bitdo Pro 3 not working on Mint 21.3(Ubuntu22.04)
Hi, I just got my Pro 3 and everything works fine with Switch and Android (also tested on a Windows machine), but I haven't been able to make it work on my PC that has Linux Mint 21.3. I have tried a few suggestions about changing the udev rules, but I just can't make it work. Connecting through the 2.4ghz dongle, it pairs, but it is not recognized as a controller. Directly through the cable the leds keep blinking, and it does not even connect. Bluetooth on D-mode connects and disconnects constantly. At least I have the USB adapter V2 and there it connects in Switch mode just fine. I've tried the 3 available firmwares for the controller and none of them work with my PC.
Does anyone have any suggestions? I would like to make it work at least plugged with the USB cable

What should I do? wait?
Hey linux folks after being a long time on LTSC windows because of app compatibility issues I wasn't able to stay on linux I used it a long time ago, the apps which were causing problems were after effects and photoshop, after using them for a long time I finally switched to affinity and davinci resolve I hope they both work on linux as they are supposed to on windows, but my main concern is dx 12 issue with nvidia, I have a laptop with rtx 3050 gpu, and I have heard the 20-30% performance loss on linux on dx 12 based games with nvidia gpus, and this problem has been there for months, can anyone tell when it gonna get fixed? when is it safe to switch? cause the issue seems to never end the forums are just going on and it has been months.

GeForce NOW coming to linux is amazing news for the Linux desktop market.
Was there any good Nvidia Linux driver news at CES?
I saw a ton of news from Nvidia and dynamic frame gen looks seriously awesome. Has anyone heard anything about Linux support from them? I am beyond excited to switch to Linux as soon as possible, but still enjoy Nvidia's features very, very much at the moment on Windows.

gpu-screen-recorder not excluding Discord audio
Hello, I’m using gpu-screen-recorder mostly for taking clips while gaming with my friends. It works great but I’d like to be able to change discord’s audio separately from the game and my own mic.
I am using the “new” interface if that makes a difference. Currently, audio track #1 is set to record my headset’s output with “Chromium” (discord) as an audio application being excluded. Audio track #2 is only the “Chromium” application audio. And audio track #3 is my mic.
When I take a clip into my editing software, track 1 is my headset’s output including discord audio, track 2 is only discord audio, and track 3 is my mic.
Anyone know how I can fix this? Thanks for any help.

Are there any other apu-s?
So i heard about the asrock bc 250 which looks good but I also seen that its prize doubled because of the popularity of the device. Do you guys know any other mining card which is still cheap considering its power for gaming?

Lenovo IdeaPad Gaming 3 GPU Power Limit (60W vs 85W) on Linux
Hi everyone,
I wanted to share a small tool I made for Lenovo IdeaPad Gaming 3 (15ACH6) or any other laptop (if works) users running Linux.
The Problem: When switching power profiles (Fn+Q), the NVIDIA GPU often gets stuck at a lower power limit (60W) instead of its full potential (85W). This happens because nvidia-powerd doesn't always refresh correctly when the ACPI profile changes.
The Solution: I created a lightweight systemd automation that monitors the power profile file. When you press Fn+Q, it automatically restarts the nvidia-powerd.service after a short delay to ensure the full 85W limit is applied.
It uses a systemd.path unit, so it consumes zero CPU while waiting—it only reacts when the profile actually changes.
GitHub Repository:https://github.com/jaakko18-wq/Lenovo-IdeaPad-Gaming-3-Legion-Nvidia-Powerd-Automator
The repo includes an easy install.sh script to set everything up. Tested on CachyOS, but should work on any distro with nvidia-powerd.
Hope this helps someone else get those extra frames!

Power Management Issues
Hello I have been having issues with my computer crashing after leaving it on for an extended period of time. I've been having this issue in both Fedora and Arch, requiring turning off my computer through the PSU power switch which as you can imagine isn't exactly great for my hardware. Normally I just turn off my PC but in the age of the 100GB game I'm often required to just leave the Computer running overnight to download.
