Best way to install Steam?
I'm ready to install Steam and get to gaming, but I just read there are 2 ways to install Steam:
- The default software manager.
- Valve's APT repository.
Which is the best way to do so? I know I sound like a noob for asking (it's probably because I AM a Linux noob), I just want to be sure.
Edit: Forgot to mentin, I'm rocking Linux Mint .

Something similar to an armory crate in Bazzite?
Hi everyone, I have an ASUS TUF F15 and I'm interested in using Bazzite. Is there a way to get something similar to Armory Crate? I'm only interested in the performance profiles. P.D: Sorry if there are any mistakes, I'm using Google Translate

Cyberpunk 2077 low CPU and GPU Usage
So, fresh install of Bazzite. At first I thought it was an OS/GPU problem but it appears that only CP2077 is being problematic.
I get pretty much the same performance in any settings (~25fps) be it for low settings without RT or ultra with RT. both CPU and GPU are barely being used. CPU sits at 10-15% while GPU depends on the settings (up to 50%-60% with RT Ultra).
Behaviour looks like a CPU bottleneck since I can increase GPU load and graphic settings without loosing any frames, except the damn CPU is sitting under 20% the whole time. I tried several in-game option such as SMT on, off and auto without much change.

Linux diy mini pc
I want to make a mini pc for playing party games and emulators on the living room tv and want ot to run on linux. The photo i've posted it's of a board with nvidia gpu but i know them don't run well on linux so i'm open for tips for full amd laptop board that are compatible with linux (enough powerful to run ps2, wii and generally full hd indie games) and, mostly, os that get me an easy install because i'm totally new to linux (you have to blame the steam deck for letting me into this). Thanks in advance for all the tips!

Controllers not working on steam games but do on lutris or native games
Guys, I think Linux might be goated. I was not expecting it to run this smooth.
Does anyone know how to get GTA 5 Enhanced to run on Debian 13?
I've already tried changing the Proton version, using Lutris, and some initialization commands, but nothing works. I'm using an Nvidia GPU (RTX 4060) and I've updated all possible drivers, but it's still stuck on the Rockstar launcher loading screen. I tried searching online but found nothing. Does anyone have a solution? The kernel version I'm using is 6.12.57+deb13-amd64.

Versions 1.4 of Zordeer and Meganimus
Zordeer and Meganimus are game launchers; Zordeer for Wine/Proton and Meganimus for native and emulator games.
This version is primarily to fix bugs and improve the organization of shortcuts created in the menu.
Now Zordeer and Meganimus can create their own category in the application menu, making the games category more organized.
If you want to test them, here are the links to the latest version:

Persona 4 issues
I switched from Linux to Mint Cinnamon a couple months ago, and I've been trying to make Persona 4 Golden work (pre-packaged version running through Steam, using Proton 9.0-4), and while the game does start and can be played, it won't run any cutscenes. Any time one is supposed to start, such as right after the P Studio logo appears or when I press new game, the screen goes fully black and then the game throws itself off of fullscreen and shows this:
I'm able to continue playing by pressing Alt and then closing the little window that pops up, but the cutscenes are completely busted. Is this a known problem, and more to the point, is there a solution to it? I'm running an AMD graphics card, if that helps pin down this issue in any way.

Need tons of help
Hi there, i'm genuinely going insane here, i have several issues trying to switch to Linux, so i'll list them, and then explain what i tried to do to fix them:
- Games do not work as intended, when i connect my second screen (vertical 4k panel scaled to 130%) they start showing weird resolutions. I kinda fixed that one by setting my secondary pannel to 100% scale, but it lead to my next issue. Before that, i tried using gamescope, but it was bad since it was locking me away from steam overlay, and following that, locks me from using steam input, which is required for some games i play
- Everything on second screen is now very small (kinda self explanatory), did not occur until i set the scale to 100%, (duh), but now is an issue.
- Games look worse. Might be placebo, but they genuinely look less sharp that on windows. I have a 1440p main screen.
- cant snap apps on my vertical monitor, the zones are vertical, unlike on windows, where on vertical monitor, app zones are horizontal
- Games have different colors than on windows??? I have no idea why, but it's not monitor settings, since i took screenshots in the same place on both OS'es, and they look different (this one i especially noticed in Wuthering Waves)
- Cursor is getting stuck between monitors. There is some kind of border between monitors, and i really have to intentionally move my mouse through it.
- No clue how to get FSR4 to work, and i am on a 9070XT, so it should work.
I tried both the newset CachyOS, and Nobara 43, both on current KDE. I was really excited to switch to linux, since windows is annoying me so much, but i just can't get things to work :(

I'm switching to Linux
I'm switching to Linux
So I got bored and frustrated about constant windows advertising and spyware tools they use, it uses more than half of my ram and nearly %10 of my CPU by just sitting on the home screen, I'll be switching to EndeavourOS cuz I once tried arch on my vm and it made me see nightmares (literally). I'm using a W11 home hp laptop, it has the omen gaming hub in it, It's nice to control fan speed but I'm curious if it stays on the last mode I switched on? If it's okay to set it in normal mode for the motherboard to decide the desired fan speed? If I switch the performance mode on and if it somehow stays like that, does my fans gonna sound like a helicopter all the time? I can't use dual boot because I only have 500gb of space and Windows takes like half of it already. I'll be using KDE plasma for easy start, compatibility with most apps and games and high customisation. I'm open to ideas and help. 🙏

Why doesn't GameJolt posses/have Proton Compatibility options?
Gamejolt has a native Linux launcher/app yet the only thig that it is capable of doing is to just search for game's with Linux versions. Sure, when Proton wasn't really a thing yet at the moment it was good for Gamejolt to have the feature to search for Linux native games but rn Proton is just good enough to the point where you can play 90% of any game's on the internet. So, why haven't they added Proton support yet?
