The Arctis Sound Manager has been released in version 1.7.4.
The tool manages the audio settings of SteelSeries Arctis headsets on Linux. After version 1.7.3 on November 3, another release with many bug fixes follows.
New is an option to turn off downloading new Sonar presets at startup, plus three new Sonar game presets. Fixes include a daemon crash on the Nova Pro Wireless, 100% CPU usage on the Arctis Pro (2019) and Arctis 5, and the battery display of the Nova Elite.
Added
- New setting “Download new Sonar presets at startup” (on by default). When turned off, ASM no longer checks the project’s GitHub repository for new SteelSeries presets at launch. Existing presets are kept. (#370)
- Three new Sonar game presets from GG 123.
Fixed
- Nova Pro Wireless (#374): The daemon no longer crashes when another program holds the headset. ASM now logs which program has it instead of resetting the USB device.
- Nova Elite (#372): The tray no longer shows 0% for a headset that is off. It shows a level only when the headset is confirmed on.
- Arctis Pro GameDAC (#337): Commands go to the correct USB interface, and sidetone is read from the correct byte.
- Noise gate (#368): The auto-threshold checkbox is now translated and no longer appears in French in every language.
- Arctis Pro (2019) and Arctis 5 (#369): The daemon no longer pins a CPU core at 100%.
- Arctis Pro Wireless (#367): The spare battery shows again on the Channels page and in the Plasma widget, as “In the Base” or “No Battery”.
- Replugging (#353): An app is no longer pinned to its channel after a replug. The router now waits for the channel to return.
