sc-controller, the Linux user-mode driver for the Steam Controller and other controllers (e.g. DS4/DS5), was released simultaneously in version 1.0.2 (GTK 4) and version 0.7.6 (GTK 3).
Both releases fix the same bug: the X/Y axes were flipped both in the Action Editor and in the emulated X360 output for default profiles. Version 1.0.2 additionally fixes minimizing to tray on startup, restores directional keys in the Action Editor menu, and corrects the misaligned cursor positioning when editing images in the Action Editor.
Important for AppImage users: AppImages are currently still broken on the 1.x.x branch - if you rely on them, stick with the 0.7.x releases, which continue to support AppImages.
Changes in version 1.0.2:
What’s Changed
- Fix X/Y being flipped in Action Editor
- Fix the emulated X360 output for X and Y being flipped in default profiles
- Fix minimizing to tray on startup
- Fix directional keys being unavailable in the Action Editor menu
- Fix Action Editor misaligned image/offset cursor positioning
⚠️ Manual intervention (may be) required
Please check out the v0.7.0 release notes if you haven’t already migrated any affected custom profiles.
AppImage
AppImages are currently broken in v1.x.x for now, if you have the know-how and wish to help with that, you are more than welcome to do so here.
You can use the v0.7.x releases for now if you wish to stick with AppImages, I will try to keep parity with the GTK 4 releases for a while.
Changes in version 0.7.6:
What’s Changed
- Flip the emulated X360 output between X and Y
- Fix X/Y being flipped in Action Editor
- Fix directional keys being unavailable in the Action Editor menu
AppImage
If you wish to use the AppImage but you’re not sure which version to go for, stick with the noble-x86_64.AppImage
