sc-controller, the Linux user-mode driver for the Steam- and other controllers (eg. DS4/DS5), has been released in version 1.0.1.
Just recently, version 1.0.0 brought the GTK 4 port, and now a smaller update follows with bugfixes. The Steam Controller (2026) is now supported by default, and a bug was fixed where inputs from DS4/DualSense under Bluetooth hidraw were being duplicated. If you still use custom profiles from before version 0.7.0 and haven’t migrated them yet, check the release notes from back then.
What’s Changed
- Enable Steam Controller (2026) support by default
- Fixed controller inputs being duplicated for DS4/DualSense under Bluetooth hidraw
⚠️ Manual intervention (may be) required
Please check out the v0.7.0 release notes if you haven’t already migrated any affected custom profiles.
AppImage
AppImages are currently broken in v1.x.x for now, if you have the know-how and wish to help with that, you are more than welcome to do so here.
You can use the v0.7.x releases for now if you wish to stick with AppImages, I will try to keep parity with the GTK 4 releases for a while.
AppImages remain broken in v1.x.x - if you rely on them, stick with the v0.7.x releases. The developer also set up a new Discord server for support and profile sharing.
