Proton Wineland has been released in version 11.0-20260917.
Proton Wineland is a fork of Proton-CachyOS, a compatibility layer for running Windows games on Linux with extra patches and optimizations.
Following version 11.0-20260913, this release brings several bug fixes: a cryptographic initialization crash in Aniimo has been resolved, along with movie playback issues in Grandia through Wine’s Video Resizer. Additionally, anti-cheat environment variables no longer automatically disable the Steam overlay, benefiting third-party launchers.
Wineland fixes:
- Fixed a cryptographic initialization crash in Aniimo.
- Fixed movie playback through Wine’s Video Resizer for Grandia (by importing upstream Wine commits).
- Anti-cheat runtime environment variables no longer automatically disable the Steam overlay, benefiting third-party launchers that set those variables globally while respecting explicit overlay settings.
- Fixed disappearing windows during resize.
- Fixed embedded panels being incorrectly treated as separate popups, causing misplaced or unclickable content in Aniimo.
- Fixed a focus-handling issue that could make menus close immediately after opening.
Bleeding-edge and upstream cherry picks:
- Color conversion, processing and resizing now utilize FFmpeg’s libswscale, with Video Resizer component implementation.
- Imported version 8.1.1 and its optimized assembly routines.
Other components:
- DXVK and vkd3d-proton received updates, including presentation-timing enhancements.
- Updated the EDID parser.
