GE-Proton: v11-7 with expanded Wine-Wayland rendering released

GE-Proton, the unofficial Proton build by GloriousEggroll, has been released in version GE-Proton 11-7.

The focus stays on Wine-Wayland child-process rendering: the patch series was expanded to 85 patches, fixing numerous DMA-BUF, Vulkan and EGL/OpenGL issues. This benefits the NCSOFT Purple launcher, Lineage II, Forza Horizon 5 and Marvel Rivals, among others. There are also fixes for window sizing and fullscreen transitions in Black Desert Online, Final Fantasy XIV and Aion, new Sony-to-XInput default mappings for several fighting games, VitaPad support, and improvements to the Steam overlay (cursor restoration, fractional scaling, VRR flickering). Wine, DXVK, VKD3D-Proton and Wine-Mono have been updated.

Wine-Wayland Child-Process Rendering

  • Expanded the cross-process DMA-BUF/Vulkan/EGL/OpenGL child-window rendering series to 85 patches, covering producer/consumer lifecycle, presentation geometry and toplevel sizing
  • Fixed NCSOFT Purple navigation/render stalls, Lineage II running without a visible window, Forza Horizon 5 login/black-screen failures and Marvel Rivals launcher flicker
  • Fixed opaque child surfaces being obscured on Hyprland (black screens, workspace-following) and an output-removal deadlock after monitor power cycles

Windowed, Fullscreen, Resize and Cursor

  • Black Desert Online: fullscreen/borderless/windowed transitions and focus-loss handling
  • Final Fantasy XIV: preserve fullscreen instead of shrinking render resolution on focus loss
  • Aion: fixed resize/maximize notifications and camera reset on right-click drag
  • Dragon Age: Inquisition: fixed offset white border in borderless fullscreen

Controller

  • New Sony-to-XInput defaults for Capcom Fighting Collection, Capcom Fighting Collection 2, MARVEL vs. CAPCOM Fighting Collection, Street Fighter 30th Anniversary Collection and Tetris Effect: Connected
  • Enabled Sony HIDRAW XInput compatibility for eFootball and Dragon Age: Inquisition
  • Added VitaPad seven-byte input report translation (sticks, face buttons, D-pad, triggers, rear touch)

Video Playback

  • Fixed Media Foundation premature end-of-stream handling, Grandia II replay freeze after the resurrection cutscene and The Witch’s Love Diary audio/video negotiation
  • Fixed Call of Duty: Black Ops III cutscene chroma corruption

Steam Overlay

  • Fixed cursor restoration after closing the overlay and fractional-scaling coordinate mismatches
  • Fixed focus restoration and VRR flickering/tearing between swapchains

Miscellaneous

  • Wine, DXVK, VKD3D-Proton and DXVK-NVAPI updated; Wine-Mono 11.2.0 → 11.3.0
