GE-Proton 11-4: controller update released

GE-Proton, the unofficial Proton build by GloriousEggroll, has been released in version GE-Proton 11-4.

Dubbed the “Controller fixup” release, it focuses mainly on controller support: haptics and hotplug handling for DualShock 4, DualSense, and DualSense Edge have been finalized. Three new configuration options were also added - DS4 Spoof (presents DualSense as a DS4 for games with native PlayStation support), XInput Convert (maps Sony controllers, including rumble, to XInput format), and Steam Input Fallback (provides a compatible fake Steam Input device for games that require it).

Wine and Graphics

  • Updated Wine base and rebased GE patch sets
  • Updated DXVK, DXVK-NVAPI, VKD3D, and VKD3D-Proton
  • Rebased OptiScaler/upscaler support
  • Refreshed the Wine-Wayland/EM-11 patch set with fullscreen, focus, scaling
  • Stopped auto-displaying DXVK shader compiler text unless requested

Video and Audio

  • Fixed Media Foundation source-reader race condition affecting Street Fighter 6
  • Rebased GE FFmpeg/WineDMO video playback patches
  • Added socket validation for Killing Floor 3
  • Continued WinePulse timing recovery work
  • Packaged PipeWire ALSA plugin for x86_64 and aarch64

Controller Support

  • Finalized DualShock 4, DualSense, and DualSense Edge haptics and hotplug handling
  • Added Sony controller support in non-Sony titles
  • Added DualSense-to-DualShock 4 spoofing and Sony HID-to-XInput conversion
  • Fixed Black Desert controller detection
  • Added Monster Hunter Wilds support

Game Fixes & ARM64

  • Fixed Star Citizen crash
  • Disabled executable ASLR for Assassin’s Creed Revelations
  • Added support for numerous titles
  • Backported LLVM-mingw ARM64X support
