NiceDeck: Steam companion app for emulation released in version v0.5.5

NiceDeck has been released in version v0.5.4 - shortly after came version v0.5.5 with a fix for the Dolphin download.

NiceDeck is a Steam companion app for console emulation, acting as an alternative to tools like EmuDeck and RetroDeck by automating emulator installation, organizing ROM libraries, and integrating them directly into the Steam Library.

Changes in version v0.5.5:

Since the Dolphin website now blocks downloads, NiceDeck uses a direct download link for the emulator. In addition, .ico files are now generated natively in Go.

  • Fix: use direct download link for dolphin, due to recent main website blocking
  • Feat: create .ico file from native go code

Changes in version v0.5.4:

This update focuses on library synchronization: it now uses a more precise method that considers the state of all available libraries, and sets shortcuts per library for more targeted action. The text in the sync shortcuts modal was updated to reflect the new process.

  • Feat: update sync shortcuts modal text to reflect new sync process
  • Feat: optimize libraries sync with a more precise method considering the state of all available libraries
  • Feat: implement shortcut set method per library for more precise action
