GOverlay: version 1.9.0 released

GOverlay, a graphical tool for managing Linux gaming overlays, has been released in version 1.9.0.

The update brings a reworked look, an auto-save feature, new upscaler integrations and Proton tweaks.

  • Modernized Brand Identity and Slate Navy theme
    • Redesigned application logo and icon
    • Polish the Slate Navy theme across interface elements
  • Auto-Save Engine: Changes are auto saved now, no need to click the SAVE button every time.
  • Floating Action Dock: Introduced a sleek bottom floating pill dock across the interface, featuring the Finish configuration walkthrough button, quick 3D preview launcher and a hamburger menu to open raw config files in every tab.
  • Minimalist Boot Splash: Re-architected startup boot splash with a clean progress bar, live log capture details window, and non-blocking asynchronous asset pre-download.

System Tweaks & Persistence

  • New Proton Tweaks: Added support for PROTON_LOCAL_SHADER_CACHE and PROTON_DISCORD_BRIDGE.
  • vkSumi & MangoHud Tweaks: Decoupled vkSumi post-processing flags, adjusted default MangoHud background alpha to 0.6.

Internationalization (i18n)

  • Migrated UI strings and message dialogs to standard resourcestrings.
  • Added complete Russian (ru) translation catalogue (./goverlay --lang=ru).
