GOverlay: version 1.8.10 released

GOverlay, a graphical tool for managing Linux gaming overlays, has been released in version 1.8.10.

Version 1.8.10 brings a fully resizable main window, fixes for OptiScaler and the Flatpak sandbox, plus the new environment variable PROTON_VKD3D_LOWLATENCY.

Changes in version 1.8.10:

Stability and Fixes

  • AppImage Improvements: Integrated cmem memory allocation and guarded thread creation against runtime crashes.
  • Flatpak Sandbox Expansion: Added /run/media:ro read-only permissions to Flatpak manifests for external drive access.
  • Library Management: Fixed crashes and improved the popup menu when removing non-Steam library folders.
  • OptiScaler: Fixed driver controls, global config synchronization, default INI file seeding, and update fallback logic.
  • Config Path Synchronization: Dynamic config path switching for VkBasalt and VkSumi when selecting different game cards.

MangoHud & Overlay Improvements

  • Theme & Color Calibration: Corrected default FPS and frametime color mapping across multiple themes (MangoHud Stock, Simple White, Old Afterburner).
  • Configuration & State Persistence: Resolved persistence issues with gl_vsync, GPU list (gpu_list), load colors, and Vulkan VSync hints.

UI & Windowing Modernization

  • Fluid Resizable Window: The main window is now fully resizable, automatically restoring window size and position upon launch.
  • Added toast notifications when toggling sidebar features.
  • Goverlay used functions now appear on game cards tooltips.
  • Multi-Column Layouts: Redesigned the Environment Variables and VkBasalt ReShade Effects with 2-column layout.
  • Visual Enhancements: High-resolution toggles for VkBasalt, unified card left margins across tabs, legacy sidebar icons replaced with PNG assets, optimized vertical spacing to fix tab bottom clipping issues.

Envvars

  • New Environment Variable: Added support for PROTON_VKD3D_LOWLATENCY.

PasCube Benchmark Engine

  • Hardware Comparison: Synchronized hardware comparison hover tooltips and benchmark scores directly with the live database.
