Arctis Sound Manager: version 1.4.11 released

Arctis Sound Manager has been released in version 1.4.11.

The tool manages audio settings for SteelSeries Arctis headsets on Linux, including microphone EQ, filter chains and the screen display on the GameDAC. Version 1.4.10 had just introduced automatic detection of control interfaces - and that same detection now needs a hotfix.

Version 1.4.11 fixes detection issues caused by the new logic from 1.4.10: devices like the Arctis 7+ and GameBuds had lost battery status and other features as a result. Incorrectly read values across thirteen device profiles were also corrected.

Fixed

  • Headset detection restored: Version 1.4.10 introduced overly aggressive logic for identifying control interfaces. The fix ensures devices are “moved only on proof, read from the hardware’s own report descriptor” rather than relying on vendor pages alone. This restores functionality for devices like Arctis 7+ and GameBuds that lost battery status and other features.
  • Usage page corrections: The previous version mistakenly read sync-interface specifications as usage-page values, corrupting thirteen device profiles. These incorrect declarations have been removed or corrected based on independent verification.

Changed

  • Enhanced diagnostics: Bug reports and USB diagnostics now display which interface serves as the control channel and audio routing information. Reports include HID interface details and audio stream sink information, allowing users to distinguish between ASM-related issues and system audio configuration problems.
