Given my portable/handheld history, please tell me good reasons to buy Steam Machine (if price is right)
Well, the conversation topic right now is the new Steam Machine. Gotta admit, I find it rather cute (and cube XD) and, after a long time playing mostly in handheld devices, I'm considering getting a Steam Machine (I mean, if it isn't excessively expensive, that will be a determining point). So please, bear with me for a while to check if this thing is good for me or not.
Back in the day in highschool, I played on my PS2 and in PC (both PC games and emulation). Slowly, I got more used to handhelds like DS and 3DS. I bought a Wii U and enjoyed it, but I mostly played it on the Gamepad only.
On 2017, I got a gaming laptop, Asus ROG... whatever XD. I got fun with it, played games for quite a while, but I also played a lot on Switch. At one point, my focus was mostly my Switch. 95 % of played time in handheld mode. Just saying. My laptop turned outdated, never found a reason for years to play a PC game on it unless it was something really simple (like this Pokémon Card fangame which name can't remember right now, Crystal League?).
Then Steam Deck came. I loved it, I alternated a lot between Deck and Switch. That helped me get more in touch with Linux, resulting in making me install Fedora in my recent Framework 12. I needed a new, lighter laptop after so many years with that heavy ROG beast and I enjoy Linux a lot. However, recently I barely touched my Steam Deck. Too heavy to carry around, being focusing more on my Switch 2.
For me, handheld gaming is all about adaptability. I can take the console with me and play anywhere. And with that I don't mean the bus or so. I mean when I go back to my parents' home on the weekend, I can take a console and play there as well. I can play in any room, stop and go back any time. Truth is, I barely play in front of a TV.
And still, this new Steam Machine sounds appealing. Maybe because of my experience with SteamOS and Linux, not sure. I wouldn't think about buying a PS5 or Xbox, but I'm considering the Steam Machine as a potential purchase. Just don't know if I will actually enjoy it given my gaming habits are more inclined on portable devices, even when I'm at home.
So I would like some outside feedback from people here, given you may have more experience with PC gaming. Do you think Steam Machine would be a good purchase for me? In what ways would I benefit from it? Sorry for the long post, wanted to give as much information as possible. Thanks!

Clair Obscure Expedition 33 cut scenes black or flashing white.
I recently downloaded E33 and everything runs very well. However at first SOME cut scenes were black. I found a post talking about missing codecs and downloaded those. It seemed at first to fix it because scenes don't go black. However now SOME flash white. As soon as i skip the cut scene everything is back to normal. I'm using Optiscaler for FSR4 but i tried without and had the same issues. I'm on Cachy os and was recommended to:
sudo pacman -S gstreamer gst-plugins-base gst-plugins-good gst-plugins-bad gst-plugins-ugly gst-libav
This is what was recommended and fixed from being black but now it flashes.

AMD 9070 - Frame drops while gaming and watching Youtube videos at the same time
Hello. I have a 9070 GPU running on CachyOS on my desktop. From the last couple of weeks, I have observed that watching a Youtube video on Firefox and running any game at the same time in Steam, is causing framedrops in both.
This did not happen earlier. Not sure if this is due to a Mesa or Kernel update. I know Firefox uses GPU Decoding on Youtube, but using GPU Decode on FF and playing a game never had this issue a few weeks ago. Anyone else facing the same issue?

does my drive format matter?
hello fine people or r/linux_gaming
today i am reaching out to hopefully solve a problem i am having, so i recently move from windows to linux(pop! os) and have brought over a bunch of my pirated games from it. i also downloaded this "heroic game launcher(which has wine/proton built in)" and gave it all of the .exe files for the games.
now when i click to play the games, if from unity. i will get a quick unity crash handler/reporter thingy screen and the game will shut, i think this is because i have yet to re-format the drive these games are on from ntfs/nfts or whatever to whatever linux uses. now i can't really do that because all the data on it will get deleted i cant find my external hard drive, dont have space on my other drive so im asking just to be sure before thinking of a way to do this, is this certainly the problem? or could it be something/ and something else?
please dont flame me if its a obvious problem, i dont know how linux works
follow up(even tho i havent posted this yet) : i tried moving said game files from the ntfs drive to the drive i installed linux on, did absolutely nothing.
this is really the only log i could find to share :

Developing a game in Linux! It's called FOREHEAD CHIP ... made with Godot and first-class Linux support
Interesting tidbit I released an early access game on Steam exclusively on Linux at first.... was the first person crazy enough to do that... not sure if anyone else has since
Working on a new game: https://store.steampowered.com/app/2171910/Forehead_Chip/ Be sure to wishlist it, please! Really helps it from being drowned out.
