Trying to get NFSU2 to work on Niri
Hello, I installed Niri + DankMaterialShell to give it a test, I tested Need For Speed: Underground 2 on Lutris, but while it works perfectly, it doesn't let me move my mouse beyond the left side, even with changing the display scale, so I'm looking for a solution to fix the mouse issue. Thanks.

Leaving windows
I have always dual booted simply to play games.
I thought now I have some time I should see if Linux gaming has really improved.
I found installing steam games works pretty well.
So i thought why install some of older games.
Steam didn't work, Lutris didn't work . I could spend hours trying to get them installed and working.
The obvious conclusion though is to waste hours fiddling or just continue to dual boot.
I looked on line for guides found a few, all failed. So I wonder when will if ever we be able to install the games we bought using Linux?
If you have a guide i would be grateful for the share but given i boot into windows install and play not sure linux is worth the time and tweaking.
To be clear i could if I spend time maybe get stuff to work, i just dont see why i should waste that time.

Issues with Nioh 3 on RTX 3070
Hello, I'm having issues playing Nioh 3 on an RTX 3070 and 5800x. Wondering if anyone generally had any tips on the matter? It seems like the VRAM usage in game isn't being posted correctly at all and no matter what settings I put it doesn't get any better other than setting EVERYTHING on very low. I've tried tweaks here and there, of course setting global illumination on its lowest setting and nothing. Is this because of the issue Nvidia has or is Nioh 3 just that poorly optimized where it absolutely needs more than 8GB VRAM? Looking at my performance output, I think the VRAM is just pinned to max and doesn't seem like there's a whole lot I can do. I'm curious if this is actually a linux issue or Nioh 3 issue. End rant, just curious on your guy's thoughts?

Where we at with nvidia drivers and the vulkan fix for dx12 titles?
So not too long ago I have read that the potential fix for the dx12 performance issues that exist in linux for Nvidia (and I guess intel?) GPU's was figured out and nearly completed for release. Now it's been silence.
Any updates on this?

D2R causing AMD driver crash
Is anyone else having this issue? I am launching D2R through the bnet client installed through lutris and it is causing the below errors. I have tried downgrading both vulkan-radeon and the kernal a couple of times, but no dice. D2R will pop up a black screen, the PC will freeze for a few seconds, and then unfreeze with the D2R custom cursor, but the entire window is still black. This is the only game it happens on. WoW, Expedition 33, and Civ 5/6 are fine.

Kernel 6.18.9-arch1-2
CPU AMD 9800x3d
GPU AMD 7900XTX
Engine GE Proton 28-32 and Proton Experimental (tried all) both native wayland enabled and disabled.

Trying To Install Skyve on Linux Mint
So a little problem that I am having here is that I am trying to get Skyve to work on my distro but to no avail. Each time when I keep trying to set it up with mostly through Wine, it keeps giving me this error.
Does anyone know how to get through this? I'm mostly trying everything I can to get it to work.
Mostly this box above is the most common erro I get while trying to install through Wine

PC Crashes when running VR (ALVR/WiVRn)
I've been trying to mess with VR on my Fedora install but both ALVR (+SteamVR) and WiVRn cause my system to crash after a while, even if it's just the VR server open with no games running. It also seems to crash even when the streamer/client on both sides is closed but the headset is still plugged in/off.
The system does not crash when rendering videos or playing (non VR) games so I'm convinced it has something to do with VR. During crashes the screen goes black and my system reboots as if I just turned it on (through BIOS and the grub menu).
OS: Fedora 42 KDE
Kernel: 6.18.8-cachyos1.fc42.x86_64
Headset: Quest 3s
PC Specs:
- R5 7600X CPU
- 32GB DDR5 @ 6000 MHz
- 7900 GRE GPU
- RM1000e PSU

Solução Resident Evil 4 Remake Não abre no Heroic Games Launcher - Linux/CachyOs
Pessoal, teve um tempo pra cá que eu estava tentando abrir via heroic o resident evil 4 remake baixado na SteamRip, porém o jogo não abria, então acabei achando uma solução pro possivel problema, vou deixar aqui o link la do video no canal, se ajudar vocês dar uma fortalecida la, pois vi aqui no redit ninguém falou uma solução pra quemestava passando por esse problema, na verdade eu vi foi gente tirando sarro falando pra pessoa comprar o jogo, reallmente funciona assim, porem nem todos tem condição de comprar, então venho humildemente ajudar quem está precisando. valeu pessoal.

Playing old games in Ubuntu 25.10 using Blackbox window manager
As you all know Ubuntu 25.10 has dropped X11 for Wayland. Many games still need X11 to work properly in fullscreen mode, Wayland still does not report all the resolution unlike X11. I am currenty using Blackbox window manager which works great and very fast in Ubuntu 25.10, classic games Wine 32 bit old games have excellent compatibility.
