Finally, we know some of you love to play on Steam Deck and on Linux operating systems through apps like Proton, and this will still be supported with Easy Anti-Cheat on.

Kind of killing bakkesmod but at least not killing Linux support.

Hi. Playing this Black Myth Wukong on EndeavourOS,
CPU Ryzen 5600x
GPU RX 9070 xt
No special compatibility layer, Steam choose it itself.

Got perfect 60 FPS on High+ settings without frame gen or upscaling, native 2560 x 1440.

Sometimes I got random black screen about 2-3 secs during boss fights (it seems like they could appear outside of boss battles, because the game mostly about fighting bosses).
Played 6 hours and got 3 black screens.
When getting black screen the game itself continue to work, my inputs are read, and after 2-3 secs all restored and I can play normally.
So, it didn't lead to any lose due to this problem, but it may happen sometimes.

Black screens seems absolutely random, no special effects from bosses, their actions or mine.

It seems like it's driver problem, may be can I check driver logs or something? How can I achieve that?

So i downloaded steam through Pi-Apps on the latest version of raspberry pi os because i wanted to try out a few games on it, but I've yet to get any games to run properly. I tried DOOM 1+2 and it crashes and closes itself every time, I also tried ULTRAKILL but that gives a black screen with a mouse over it. I made sure to turn on proton for both but neither worked. Any tips?

Hi i got tes 4 on CD from back in the day. The problem is it says on the Box you need to have Windows. Is there a way to play it on Linux or is it only possible im a Windows Vm? I use Mint btw and can't test it right now (Waiting for my cd drive😅)

I've recently got a VR Headset and tried to play VR games on Linux (especifically VR Mods of games like GMod VR and such) and it was pretty bad on Linux, even after 3 days of me sitting in my computer for +8 hours trying out tweaks, so now im wondering about something: Will VR on Linux improve with the Frame? I want VR on Linux to work to finally have a reason to delete my Windows partition.

I used PortProton (which, if I'm not wrong, uses wine) to install the Hoyolive launcher

The launcher itself works well but the game just can't open

I would try to find myself a way to fix this but the error code is not pretty direct with what is implying so I don't even know what is not working

Has anyone had the same problem before? How did you fix it?

I haven't tried opening the game exe file directly with portproton or downloading the game via Epic Games (which I also use PortProton for) but in my mind it shouldn't work BCS I would need to use the same tool that is causing the problem

HSR and HoyoLive are both logically last version and PortProton is 1.7.5

Hello Gamers! Recently, I've taken under my wing an old MacBook 10,1 from 2017. It used to be my old daily, but as time went on, issues piled up, and I wanted more performance, so I switched to my now main laptop. Well, my "new" laptop already has 3 years or so of use, and it is my most prized possession, but its hinges are giving up, and I need something light to take to school. So I decided to refurbish the old Mac and install Cachy OS, the "fastest" Linux distribution on it. After hassling with some audio drivers, I finally got the system working, and I love it! It's fast, reliable, and I get tons of use out of it! I'm taking my CS classes, and I can spend all day at school and not have to worry about plugging it in. Hell, it even managed to get the GeekBench scores of this laptop up 200 points in single core and up 400 points on multicore! But then I decided to install some games so I could kill time at school, and I noticed a big performance drop. Minecraft, which used to run at 90 fps on Optifine and 50 fps raw, was now struggling to get a stable fps, dropping to 14 and 13 fps consistently. The game was choppy, and when I installed optimization mods like VulkanMod and Lithium and lowered the game's graphics, resolution, and render distance to like 8 chunks, the game still barely played at 50- 57 fps. The other light Steam games I used to play on the OG MacOS, like Project Zomboid, are also being affected by this. Project Zomboid is prone to crashing often, and lags when there are many zombies on screen, lagging much worse than when I played it on Mac. Brawlhalla, a literal 2d fighting game, is also having stutters, which I find hard to believe. The performance of the computer improved on paper, but when Gaming I feel a significant power drop. Is this normal? Are there any workarounds? Any advice you guys can give me? These are the specs of my computer, along with some photos:

Any idea what this is or how to fix it ?

It seems like some sort of grass shader or texture issue. Changing the settings does not seem to affect it.

I am on Ubuntu 24.04 LTS on an Nvidia 4070 (latest 590 driver, tested open and proprietary).

Tested using Proton GE latest, Proton Experimental and older versions. Nothing seems to make a difference.

I ran a tungsten test in Phoronix and noticed that both caustic tests were outside of deviation, but the hair & non-exponential results were fine. CPU is AMD Ryzen 7 3700x so I'm wondering if the drivers might be the issue.

Does anyone know if gurrgur/er-patcher still works on linux to enable ultrawide for Elden ring? Looking to move from windows to CachyOS, but currently in the middle of an Elden Ring playthrough on windows using flawless widescreen and want to make sure ultrawide works for Elden Ring on linux before making the move. Thanks!
