Peripheral Manufacturers with native Linux software / Support
I thought maybe it would be a good idea to make a sticky post that shows peripheral manufacturers that support Linux with there own native software / firmware.
Please add your own peripherals that have a native software stack for Linux and I will update this post with verified Linux support, Please post your own experiences and not here say or what manufactures claim . Maybe something like this can pick up traction and can get some manufacturers into making there own linux software stack, Thats the hope atleast.

Invisible cursor in Total War: Warhammer 2
Hi all. The youtube algorithm has ordained me a non-stop flood of Total War Warhammer 2 videos so I want to play again. Unfortunately, I have had no luck in getting it to run properly on linux, the issue being an invisible cursor. The game runs, I skip the 2 logos and 1 cutscene by pressing esc 3 times, and from that point, even if I load a campaign I will have no visible cursor.
There are several ways to run the game: native, steam linux runtime and proton. The native and steam linux runtime types do not even start the game for me (segfault or generic errors) so I am sticking with proton.
Things I've tried:
- Changing resolution.
- Switching from full screen to windowed mode.
- Fiddling with in-game settings UI Scaling and UI resolution.
- Enabling or disabling in-game setting Lock cursor to window.
- Moving the game from one screen to another, then back.
- Disabling my second monitor (and starting the game).
- Switching Directx version from 11 to 12(BETA) and back.
- Disabling KDE compositor.
- Checking integrity of game files in Steam UI.
- Reinstalling the game.
- Wiping entire installation directory.
- Removing all saves (cloud and local).
- Removing the ~/.local/share/feral-interactive, ~/.local/share/Feral Interactive and ~/.local/share/The Creative Assembly folders.
- Switching to pretty much all other proton versions 5.x to 10.x .
- Setting Directx conf and limiting FPS: https://old.reddit.com/r/linux_gaming/comments/1fdndkr/issues_with_total_war_warhammer_3_proton_and/ltonic0/
- Setting gamemoderun: gamemoderun %command%
- Setting gamescope:
- gamescope --force-grab-cursor -- %command%
- gamescope -W 2560 -H 1440 -f --force-grab-cursor -- %command%
- gamescope -W 2560 -H 1440 -f --force-grab-cursor -- gamemoderun %command%
- Setting WLR_NO_HARDWARE_CURSORS=1 and KWIN_FORCE_SW_CURSOR=1 when starting steam
- Setting WLR_NO_HARDWARE_CURSORS=1 KWIN_FORCE_SW_CURSOR=1 gamemoderun %command% when starting the game.
Specs:
- OS: Arch Linux
- WM: KDE plasma
- KERNEL: 6.12.32-1-lts
- CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 3700X 8-Core
- GPU: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080
- GPU DRIVER: NVIDIA 575.57.08
- RAM: 32 GB
If I can provide other relevant info please ask, thanks!

Multiplayer game in Steam Next Fest that doesn’t forget Mac/Linux players for once
TLDR: Wyrd Waters is a 2-8 player online multiplayer fantasy naval game. We wanted to make a game where friends didn't get left out so we made it on Mac, Linux, Windows and SteamDeck! :D
It's mythological, tactical and quick/easy to pick up.
Our Demo will be part of Steam NextFest if you want to try a bite-size version!
We're a team of 3 devs that got layed off last year and wanted to make a small, accesible and affordable game (full version will be $1.99). We appreciate any support :)

Need Help with Helldivers 2 on Steam
Hello,
Im a fairly new Linux user, i switched from Win10 to Ultramarine (KDE Plasma Version) a week ago.
First game i wanted to try was Helldivers 2. I love this game and it worked perfectly fine on windows.
I checked ProtonDB, was pretty happy to see its Gold verified. I did 1 Step of tweaking i saw was required by most users: Startoption --use-d3d11
The game starts, i do my settings, but after that, the screen freezes. Weird thing is: if i press W i can hear myself walking around, so its just the graphic that doesnt work.
My system specs:
3200Mhz 16GB DDR4
1TB NVME SSD
Ryzen 7 2700x
GTX 1050ti
Thanks in advance for helping!

seems like you will be able to play your xbox library on PC. any chance it works on linux?
Steve of Gamers Nexus mentions that his team "keeps thinking on how they want to break in Linux testing"
https://youtu.be/jAy3BT0PLEg?feature=shared&t=1125
Having an outlet like Gamers Nexus publishing hardware testing on both Windows and Linux would be huge, it's something that unfortunately only small channels / sites do. Not only would GN show to everyone that Linux is indeed a valid alternative to Windows for gaming, but having someone with their reach and rigid testing methodology would also put more eyes on legit issues that Linux gaming atm has (like NVIDIA performance in VKD3D).

Nvidia reaches 92% GPU market share in Q1 2025
https://www.techspot.com/news/108225-nvidia-reaches-historic-92-gpu-market-share-leaves.html.
I think this community is going to have to accept the fact that AMD just isn't competitive in the discrete GPU space at this time and that recommending people switch is a fool's errand. If you expect a flood of new Linux gamers coming from Windows, if they have discrete GPUs, the overwhelming majority are going to be using an nVidia product and they aren't going to be buying AMD.
I know it's a contentious issue in the Linux community but nVidia owns this space and it's obvious why. Their feature set is just better and better supported. nVidia GPUs are a must in AI/ML work and think that, even for gamers, is going to become an ever more important concern.

Looking for alternatives to Omen Gaming Hub and UXTU (HP Victus / Arch Linux)
Hi everyone,
Device: HP Victus Gaming Laptop (Ryzen 7 7840HS + RTX 4050, 16GB RAM) System: Arch Linux + KDE Plasma + linux-zen kernel
I’m looking for Linux alternatives to the Omen Gaming Hub and UXTU (Universal x86 Tuning Utility) tools I used on Windows.
I'm especially looking for these features: Fan speed control for CPU & GPU
Power profiles (quiet / balanced / performance modes)
Ability to set CPU temperature limits (like in UXTU)
Real-time hardware monitoring (temperature, usage, frequency, voltage, etc.)
Option to force use of the RTX 4050 GPU instead of hybrid graphics
Preferably with a GUI, user-friendly design, and available via Flatpak or AUR for easy installation.
Thanks in advance to anyone who can help!

ALVR setup like I'm 5
I have a fresh fedora install, and have been banging my head on how to get ALVR set up so I can stream games to my quest 3 for hours on end. I keep looking for tutorials online, but I cont find any that are any good, or assume I already have a dozen different dependencies already installed.
I need the whole process explained to me in the easiest, baby step by baby step way. Thank you!

Can we stop with the stupid questions?
Like 80% of posts on this subreddit are "What Linux distro is for me?", or "Windows sucks, what distro should I choose?", or "How is gaming on Linux?". These can be answered with a quick Google search, yet people still keep spamming these stupid questions. The subreddit doesn't have any meaningful content anymore because it's just being flooded with beginners who are too lazy to do simple research.
Mods, do something about this!

Unusual Frametime Spike and GPU Usage Rate in Against the Storm
Every ~1.5 s the frametime jumps from ~4 ms to ~120 ms, FPS dives by ~20–30, then recovers. Only in the gameplay, no issue while in game title. Also my GPU usage rate constantly stabilises at 100% which is very rare (4060 GPU not intel)
Tried the usual Linux‐side fixes – spikes still there.
Because I saw the game on ProtonDB, which is platinum and no one has reported similar issue. I guess probably there are some problems on my computer, not with the game (even this issue only happens in this game)
I paste inxi under and hope a detective can help me.

Does New Vegas Reloaded work with Wine?
- Radeon RX 550
- OS: Ubuntu
- GOG version
- Vanilla game
If I install NVR with Mod Organizer I start the game and get an instant crash.
When installed manually, without Mod Organizer, the game starts and I can access NVR's in game settings menu but the graphic effects are not there (it's like playing vanilla New Vegas). If I play a little bit with the menu, disabling and enabling settings, I get error messages.
Did I forget any requirements? I only installed xNVSE.

Steam crashed my laptop and now it won't turn on.
I have a MSI gl70 laptop which I had converted into a Linux machine for work and games. Steam worked well. Gta5 enhanced didn't though and it won't let me delete it too. So I deleted from its directory .but the library still showed.i clicked play and the laptop crashed and now it refuses to turn on. No lights, no sound no display .
Y'all have to help me understand what has happened and how can I fix it!!!

FPS Games
I want to switch to Linux, and most of my games are compatible on it, either natively or thru wine/proton. But the only problem is first person shooters, most of them are not compatible on Linux, so are there any good ones which are compatible?
