when i launch adb forward with my quest 3 plug in over usb it always give the error 255 while whent he ehad set unpluged it hangs at starting server even affter i plug in the ehadset

So it seems that ROBLOX officially ended Wine support, I've tried Grapejuice, (game simply says starting but nothing happens) and Vinegar straight up says there's nothing they can do? So did they put a check for Wine or something and the game refuses to launch if it detects it's being ran under a wine prefix?

Hallo! i came back to linux mint 21.3 recently and managed to fix the bluetooth dongle by updating my kernel to 5.19, but, although the controller works perfectly while paired to my phone in bluetooth and in windows, on mint it will just show a red light. it works perfectly when its connected through a cable, which makes it even weirder. i tried to search it online but didnt find anything. i tried sc-controller but that didnt change anything.

im using blueman bluetooth manager withing linux mint cinnamon 21.3.

I built a gaming pc a few months ago and occasionally I am getting power throttling showing up in MangoHud. It happened in Metro 2033 Redux (but not Last Light). And now it’s happening in Ready or Not.

It happens when power consumption goes just over 300w based on Mangos readings.

I am running Arch.

I normally dont have problems but Warframe its taking 2 hours and still on 40%. My doubt if this shader cache its the same concept of some emulators, like when something happens on the screen the game freeze and get stutters until the gpu compile what its running in the moment, and this gonna happen everytime that something new appears, BUT ONLY IN THE FIRST TIME.

So the steam vulkan cache its something like this? because if it is im fine to play "stutteting" sometimes in the first time that something happens, if in the second time i still safe.

hey y'all just wanted to ask opinion on Linux distro that would work well for a Linux noob. I'm currently running a Nvidia 4060

i have 2 nvme.2 SSD drives in I'm currently running ubuntu on one SSD and win11 on the other trying it out. i have been struggling to get many different games to work. Nvidia drivers wont work or update and frankly i don't know enough to figure out why, so i run windows still. but with the ai and security issues i want to drop win all together. so i do want to ask what distro would be best. i play alot of random games and i understand many off the AAA games wont play due to anti cheat issues. i plan on swapping my GPU to AMD in the near future(first swapping with my nieces RX6600 till i can get a better one).

i play games and have been trying to learn to code. and have been playing with LLMs installed on pc, and entry level video editing.

any advice would be greatly appreciated

If I launch Steam, sometimes I notice that the entire frame rate of my desktop basically goes to 30 FPS or so. It's not shader compilation and the load of the system on all 16 threads is pretty low. It's not shader compilation. GPU load looks low.

So what gives?

I have an AsRock AMD Radeon RX7600, with a two monitor setup. One is an ASUS VG247Q1A 1080@144, the other one (the main one) is a Gigabyte GS27Q 2K@165.

The issue is that when I try to set my Gigabyte monitor to 165hz, the GPU crashes almost instantly, the PC screen goes black, the computer goes unresponsive and the VGA led turns on in the motherboard. I can then try to log in, but as soon as I do, the computer instantly crashes, or it does it after a couple of minutes.

I presented the same results using Ubuntu, Arch and most recently Fedora, using both GNOME (in Wayland and Xorg) and Hyprland. This does not happen using Windows though. I tried using HDMI instead of DP in both monitors to no avail. I disabled AMD FreeSync in both monitors as well. I disabled an "Overload" feature that is present on the Gigabyte monitor as well. Nothing has worked.

I can set the ASUS monitor refresh rate to 144hz with no issues.

Any guidance on what to do, how to troubleshoot and where to report this issue to get some support? I'm thinking the problem is Mesa.

It’s only just started today. Haven’t made any changes to my system. The only games I have installed to test it with are crusader kings 3 and cyberpunk 2077 it happens with both

Whole system slows to a snails pace after just a few minutes in game and speeds back up shortly after exiting

Thought it might be either my cpu or gpu overheating but they’re both fine

Anyone got any clue what could be wrong?

I finally moved my Xbox from collecting dust on a shelf to collecting dust in a closet and I have some left over Xbox controllers. Has anyone tried using an adapter for pre-Bluetooth wireless controllers? Do they work? Preferably without having to install drivers since they will mainly be used on my steam deck. I'd hate for perfectly good controllers to go to waste.

I installed Mod organizer 2 on a Windows PC like 2 yeras ago (portable for Skyrim GOG), less then a year ago I installed Garuda Linux, an Arch based distro, and decided to use the same MO2 installation, witch is in my 2TB drive along with my games. Getting it to work on its basic functions wasn't really a problem, I was playing modded Skyrim in Linux in less than 2 days, without the need of reinstalling anything except LOOT and my save files.
But there is something that still doesn't work, the web view on the mods info, I'm here asking you if you have the same problem, if not to find out if I'm missing a dependency or an override or something.

The web view simply stays blank

This is nothing game-braking of course, I can always open the nexus page on my browser, just wanted to know if anyone has figured this out.

I play Everspace, which is a singleplayer game and does not use the microphone. However, when I start it through steam, I do get a small icon in my task manager saying "Steam is using the microphone".

I can click on it to mute it, which I did, but I'd rather disable it completely. How can I make it not... do that, if the game doesn't need the mic?

After updating my debian (sid) today minecraft version 1.8.9 started crashing with exit code 1 i reinstalled the game and nothing change

When i specified the java file that i want to launch the version with (openjdk 17) 1.8.9 vanilla started working but i cant connect to any server as i get this message: Internal excpetion: Java.lang.runtimeException: unable to access address of buffer

While forge 1.8.9 doesnt work at all( with and without mods) as it kept crashing with exit code 6

Well when i specified the java file in forge i got exit code 1 in place of 6

Keep in mind that version 1.20.6 is still working just fine

I also cant get the crash report as i didnt find the log anywhere no matter where as i searched

And when switched to sklauncher as the crash log is easy to find they tell "empty report"

I tried installing a downgraded version of openjdk 17 and also newer openjdk versions (21 22 23) still nothing worked

I see people got xdefiant to work but for some reason i cant get it to load the battle eye driver. I'm not sure what im doing wrong but i followed the guide and did what people did through heroic but it doesn't work for me any solutions? I tried finding a fix on google but didn't really come across much for this only window solutions. So thought i'd post it here.

FYI, I’m a Linux Newbie and have been trying a lot to get some things sorted but they just aren’t working. Bazzite’s ‘Gaming Mode’ is not working at all. When I click on it, it just takes me back to the normal KDE Desktop. Heard there was an issue with the latest build. But I cannot find the last stable build for Bazzite which is 39 btw. Can anyone guide me to the link or atleast let me know how to rebase to the earlier version properly? The latest update based on Fedora 40 just seems to break gaming mode and I’ve been trying it for the first time. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.
