Help with Playing RDR (the PC one that came out recently) on Pop!_OS
As the title suggests I have been trying to get RDR to run on my system but have failed to successfully launch the game.. I am using a DODI Repack here and I am running it via Lutris... I have provided the crash screenshot as well as the lutris config... any help getting this running? System specs:- R7 7800X3D processor + RTX 4070 Ti Super Graphics processor...

Dx12 vs Vulkan overhead in Proton
Might be a silly question, but I couldn't find any info on this, any idea if games that have vulkan as an option have less overhead from the translation layer since vulkan isn't being translated to something else? I'm sure there's plenty of windows calls being translated still, but I was curious if games that let you play with vulkan have less overhead. If a game offers both, should I use Vulkan or DX12?

Piper detecting mouse but not applying settings correctly.
So Piper is correctly detecting my Logitech G502 lightspeed, and even detects my current DPI resolution correctly after changing it with the default DPI switcher, but whenever I apply any of the settings, nothing changes with my actual mouse functionality. I can't even change the LCD color.
Is there anything special in the terminal I have to do for this to work? Does libratbag have a non-GUI interface I can test? I tried running piper with sudo to see if that changed anything or gave me some kind of output to troubleshoot but it hasn't.
On a ROG Strix G614JV, Nobara Project 41, using the rpm version of the program not the flatpak one.
EDIT: Never mind, already fixed it, stupid occam's razor. For future people coming to this thread from google, you have to click "add profile" and create new profile where it says "Profile 1", because Profile 1 does not actually exist by default, just Profile 0. Thank you Barotto.

Steam does not open (Fedora 41 KDE spin)
Using:
- Fedora 41 KDE spin
- AMD Radeon RX 7600
I've had Fedora for about a week and yesterday I finally got around to installing steam.
Everything was going well at first but after it did the initial update, steam did not start, except for a window asking to restart steam.
I've tried many things:
completely uninstalling steam (and its /local files), using flatpack, using cef-disable-gpu, using STEAM_RUNTIME=0 steam, using strace (got a bunch of ENOENT and EACCES), steam -console.
I'll paste what it says in the terminal when I try to boot it if it helps:
my_name@fedora:~$ steam steam.sh[13901]: Running Steam on fedora 41 64-bit steam.sh[13901]: STEAM_RUNTIME is enabled automatically setup.sh[13956]: Steam runtime environment up-to-date! steam.sh[13901]: Log already open steam.sh[13901]: Using supervisor /home/my_name/.local/share/Steam/ubuntu12_32/steam-runtime/amd64/usr/bin/steam-runtime-supervisor steam.sh[13901]: Steam client's requirements are satisfied CProcessEnvironmentManager is ready, 6 preallocated environment variables. I'm doing my part
Saw a few "Steam hardware survey" videos and thought about it; I've never actually filled one out in the 10ish years I've been using steam. I don't think i've even been asked before tbh

Is Gamescope/HDR possible to use with Nvidia GPU & Wayland session?
I made a post on this issue today and hardly no responses. But I am generally curious if any Nvidia GPU/ Wayland guys has got this to work? Or is it mostly for AMD GPU's?
For anyone curious on what I have done to get gamescope working on a 5080 Nvidia GPU in a Wayland session, click on this link:

Lutris, EA App - Game installation requires .Net Framework to complete installation
I got Ubisoft games and Epic games working, but when I tried to install a game through the EA app, it finishes downloading, begins to install, and fails at the .Net Framework part. I thought Lutris would handle these kind of things. Is there a setting or something that will make .Net Framework install during the game's installation?

Help Running The game Control
I had this game running before previously. Using Heroic. It ran fine. Now I have no audio. The really weird thing is when I start the game, the audio is there, right in the beginning and then it’s gone. Im running LMDE Faye. I have tried going back to a restore point and it makes no difference. Anybody come across this? Thanks in advance

Steam announces new Proton version in partnership with Microsoft; granted license to Windows source code
Steam just announced that they officially licensed the Windows source code from Microsoft, to help aid in developing Proton. This is huge as the new Proton version, dubbed Proton Lirpa Loof, will bring perfect one-to-one compatibility between Linux and Windows, like WSL but the other way around. Moreover, a Microsoft spokesperson confirmed that even kernel drivers (like anticheats) would run "exactly the same as on Windows 11" and that all software, whether kernel or user space, would be "unable to distinguish between a Proton Lirpa Loof device and a Windows device". Proton Lirpa Loof marks a complete 180 of the relationship between the two companies -- whether a blessing or a curse remains to be seen.
This is amazing news, but I do fear that this will lead to Proton becoming closed-source, and Steam may be forced to only distribute it to licensed computers. This would explain why they are releasing SteamOS (codename "April Day") on desktop, as it will may be the only official distro that's allowed to run Proton Lirpa Loof, since it contains proprietary Microsoft code that they don't want to be leaked.

ETA PRIME Installed Official SteamOS On This $230 Gaming PC!
I have a question
How do I ensure game settings are saved persistently within Bottles or Lutris on Linux, preventing the need to reconfigure them each time I launch a game?
