Different Overclock behavior in linux? (Fedora)
Yesterday I was playing Days Gone and I realized that my game would continuously crash during a cave section where many zombies would spawn in at once. I had to go back to stock memory clock in order to stop this from happening. On windows 11 the same cave section with the same overclock, does not crash. On windows I can run it at 2674mhz and on Fedora I can only run it at 2524mhz. Is this something to do with Proton? Or the way the linux AMD drivers work?

Discord Screen share
Hi, I recently transferred from Windows to Linux, and I need advice on how to fix an issue I have been having with discord screen share. When I try to play a game (Expedition 33, please play it, it's peak) and try to screen share it on discord, it seems to make the game stuttery? I have no idea how to fix it and I'm not sure if installing other discord clients would be safe. I'm using X11, and Nvidia if that matters. Would love some possible pointers or ways to fix this.

Warframe not updating since Friday
- Tried to reinstall it on a different Drive
- Deleted the entire compatdata/230410 folder
- Disabled Bulk download, Network caches and aggressive download
Nothing seems to be working.
I'm starting to think this isn't a me issue. Is anyone else experiencing this?

Which Linux should I use if I'm just starting out in Linux gaming?
Well, I've been wanting to upgrade from Windows 10 to some Linux distribution for a while now, but I don't know which one. Some say Mint, but I've been looking more and others say no because it's horrible for gaming. To a certain extent, I'm starting to go crazy trying to figure out which one I should use. I've thought about using Arch, but the installation is complicated and they say it's weird for gaming. I've also thought about SteamOS, but in the end, I'm not convinced. What do you recommend?

Getting CS2 to run on Fedora?
Hi guys
I'm trying to get Counter Strike 2 to run on my fedora 42 laptop.
Steam is installed. It let me in and ran the tutorial / practice match stuff but when I tried to go into a regular match against other players I got the following:
Valve Anti-Cheat
Some of your game files have been detected to have no signatures or invalid signatures. You will not be allowed to join VAC secure servers. Please verify your launch options, check correctness of your game installation, restart the game and try again.
Without actually reading it, the first place I looked was ProtonDB and noticed most of the Fedora/Intel listings were - didn't work. Took it was a positive sign that mine at least is capable of running it.
Went back into the game and actually read the notification and realized I'd started in the wrong spot.
I start looking for a VAC program on the Steam store and find out there's not one.
Then looked through google searches and this sub and see a bunch of stuff about there not being a VAC and probably won't be one.
So how do you guys play CS2 on Steam from linux? Or do you?
I doubt it's relevant given the issue, but just in case here's my system specs:

Supporting games that natively run on Linux?
I apologize if this has been discussed before and for being a new member of the Linux community (I feel out of place saying this for some reason).
I play Eve Online on Fedora. There was a new update to the launcher and all of the Linux players had to scramble to find a fix (I still haven't fixed mine). When you play on an OS that is not supported, you must prepare for things to break and for there not to be any support. I get that. But, Eve Online was supported on Linux for a long time and one of the developers supposedly likes to game on Linux (and worked on a Linux-friendly launcher or something like that).
So, it got me thinking: shouldn't we be supporting the gaming companies that support us?
I know the list of mmorpgs that natively run on Linux is low, but playing games that do not have native Linux support kind of feels like supporting a company that does not want to support us (or worse, does not want us there in the first place, but tolerates our existence).
I tried Albion Online in the past, along with Runescape. I didn't have much fun with them, but I want to support them because they support me. ARK looks pretty good, so I'll probably give that a try. I read the Wurm Online forums and they seem to have a tight knit community. I'll try to find some YT videos to see if it's something that I'll try.
Anyways, what do you think? Shouldn't we support those that support us?

Rocket League Stopped Working Today
I regularly play Rocket League using Lutris and Proton, but today it no longer boots up. I tried with Proton Hotfix, Proton 8.0, Proton-GE, Wine 10, and Lutris' default Wine version, but each time a black rectangle appears for a couple seconds then disappears; the game never successfully launches.
My Linux distro is OpenSUSE Tumbleweed.
I tried using wine to run the .exe directly, and got this output:

Weird artifacts
Hello!
I have recently (this morning) installed Arch / KDE wayland on my 7900X3D / 7900XTX system
I have weird artifacts in deadbydaylight (UE5)
I have tried the following steps:
- Adding vm.max_map_count = 2147483642 within /etc/sysctl.d/80-gamecompatibility.conf
- Installing the packages vulkan-radeon lib32-vulkan-radeon lib32-mesa lib32-vulkan-icd-loader vulkan-tools llvm lib32-llvm lib32-llvm-libs llvm-libs
I also have tried to install mesa-git lib32-mesa-git vulkan-radeon-git lib32-vulkan-radeon-gitfrom the AUR but it would not compile 😅
One thing that did fix it though is PROTON_USE_WINED3D11=1 %command%
What I don't like about the fix is that I might have to use it through trial and error on other games, and it means that in case of a fix -- should there be a bug causing this -- I would miss said fix unless through some more troubleshooting...
Also, I did not have that issue yesterday before my clean reinstall (no hardware changed in between).
So my question is, did I miss some additional tweaks which could fix this? Has a bug newly been introduced which would explain this issue (in which case I just need to wait for an update)?
Bonus problem: Without using Proton-GE I do not have a steam overlay. Using the default latest proton does not work, using proton experimental does work though
Edit: Sorry for the title, this was supposed to be a placeholder but I forgot to change it before publishing the draft 💀

Modding Games on Linux
Have any of yall had any major issues with modding games on Linux? Whether it be something from Nexus mods or something like R2Modman. I usually can figure out what I need to get the mods working but I feel like there is not a lot of mod support for games on Linux. I want to be wrong so please direct me in the right direction for modding on Linux. Particularly want advice on using R2Modman. thank you!

Quality low to middle-end Linux handhelds?
I've recently found [this](https://anbernic.com/products/anbernic-rg353p), and that got me thinking. I've been wanting a small, but powerful console for a while now. Steam Deck is great, but the one thing holding it back is its cumbersome size.
Basically, I'm just looking for a small Linux console. PSP or 3DSXL-sized, for comparison. Wouldn't need to be NASA supercomputer levels, nor would I expect it to be. Just something that could run most low-to mid-range games. 4-8GB RAM would be all you would need for that, I would think. Or really, just as much as you could cram into it at that size. Maybe even SteamOS-capable, if that's even possible. If not, Linux would do just fine for my purposes.
Are there any out there like that? And if this isn't the right place to ask, please point me to the correct place.
Thank you very much.

(Linux) Major graphical artefacts/glitches
First, my specs:
- AMD Ryzen 5 5600x
- 32 GB DDR4 RAM
- Intel Arc A770 16GB
- Ubuntu 25.04
- 6.14.0-15-generic kernel
- Mesa 25.1-rc3
Let's get one thing out of the way real quick; no, the GPU isn't dying. Oblivion Remastered is the only game this glitches happen in.
I've taken these screenshots in the Imperial City as that's where the artefacting happens most drastically, however it still happened in the starter dungeon/sewers and outside. I know that AMD GPUs had some weird visual bugs, but the ones I'm experiencing are not the same, and I can't seem to find anyone else experiencing these problems (after days of searching. It sometimes seems like I'm the only one with an Intel card in the world).
I've tried running with Proton 9.0-4, ProtonGE 9.27, and the newest Proton 10, but I don't think it's an issue that can be fixed with merely running a different Proton version.
Game compiles shaders upon first launch (I reinstalled a few times) so... it could be an error with how shaders are compiles...? Maybe...?
Either way, I'm at a loss now and need help figuring this out...

How are Asrock boards on Linux, any issues?
Specifically the B850i Lightning. It's cheap, but if it sucks I'd like to avoid it. I'm planning to do a Bazzite build and in the future maybe SteamOS
