I have installed xwayland video bridge but the portal keeps overring and popping up

The preview when selecting a screen works fine but the stream itself keeps loading idk how to solve this

I’m thinking about moving to Linux because my gaming pc can’t run windows 11. A few questions 1. What’s up with the files and games, will they move or do I have to copy and paste them 2. If they don’t move automatically do I have to select the myself 3. How badly does it effect gaming and performance 4. One I do it can I turn back without having to buy a new copy of windows 10

I'm not familiar with e-sports. It isn't popular where I live, but I know it is popular in some countries. In Korea, there are big buildings (like the basketball ones) where the crowd watch e-sports.

The competitions have big prizes and many people place bets. That means that the procedure must be transparent and the software behavior should be known. All competitor must have the same conditions.

First every competitor should use the same hardware specs. The first problem is that no CPUs are equal. Modern CPUs have a boost that increases the speed dynamically limited by the temperature, but two CPUs that are from the same product will have different limits. For that reason, the boost should be disabled.

The operating system should be the same image (including same packages and versions). Because Windows is closed-source, it lacks transparency and it isn't reliable to be used in a fair competition. For that reason, a Linux/Wine image is more reliable.

Finally, games... Old games developed before the popularity of e-sports are unlikely to have problems as long as the version is the same and the data is unmodified. But new games may have hidden cheats to help competitors that buy them. Hidden bugs may also lead to unfair help. Without the source code, it is difficult to detect the cheats.

E-sports games should avoid random functions. Even with a fair RNG, favorable results mean good luck rather than good skills.

Those who are playing this mod on Linux, what wine version are you using? I had no luck with lutris-GE-Proton8-26, lutris-GE-Proton7-43, lutris-7.2-2, and wine-9.10. It's either ModOrganizer not starting or the game itself.

My internet connection shows 136mbps on speedtest.net but the steam is downloading my game at just 6 mbps.. but the main problem is that it's not even downloading at that speed.. the game is 75gb.. and with the Shown speed the game should be downloaded in 4 hours.. but the steam says 1D remaining.. anyone knows what's happening? Hey guys, so for almost a month now i was preparing my system for Linux migration but i was delaying as much as i could due to my most recent experience with Ubuntu.

So i basically had issues with every step of installation, booting, installing games, even running netflix didn't work. When i resolved them i had problems with customisation so in the end I moved back to Windows.

2 days ago random cmd widnows started poping on my screen and executing script's i had no idea off so i decided that its time to drop windows.

I went for pop os and i am pleasntly surprised. My only complaint is sometimes plasma is a bit lagy but despite that everything just works. I am aware that some games like league of legends are not supported but with everything else? If i tired it, it worked. No issues, no lags, no glitches.

My gf asked me to let her play baldurs gate. So i installed it dreading troubleshooting but it just worked.

I m really shocked. I was planning to dual boot windows but for now I don't see any point.

Some of you may share my annoyance - that the update to Elden Ring the day before DLC makes EasyAntiCheat break with proton, meaning that there's no way to play online. I've been playing SOTE with this command in the Elden Ring settings :

I'd much rather play online tho, does anyone know where I can look at progress being made to fix the bullshit that EasyAntiCheat is?

I just installed the game and it works fine but i just dont have any sound. I'm on arch, i installed it via lutris and a legit version of the disk. I installed the 1.1 patch (yes my region is correct) and the multifix. Any ideas?

Yo people, anyone got the Starfield creation kit working via proton? It will start and the UI is kinda usable, but it will crash when I really try to do stuff.

But I'm looking for a game. If possible an RPG (if not, that's ok), but my main goal is to play something that's like Divinity: Original Sin (1 & 2) or DA: Origins. This kind of games are relaxing to me because are long games that do no require me to spend a certain amount of time to play. I can "pause" whenever I want. Play just a few hours a day or lots of them. I don't know if I'm making myself clear, but I'm looking for games that can allow these "feelings". What kind of games fobyou think I should try? I want to use linux, any distro any flavor any kernel. I want to play my PCVR games (i use a quest 2 with virtual desktop) and I don't want to dual-boot. I have yet to see a solution to this problem (PLEASE CORRECT ME IF I'M WRONG, I WANT TO BE WRONG) Until there is proper support for PCVR/Streaming of PCVR to the Quest 2, i have to get on my knees and bl*w Bill Gates, just so my wifi drivers don't disappear. Why does Windos 11 suck so bad, and why is there a lack of VR support for linux...

Hey. I use heroic launcher for gaming but installing the games makes it complicated and repacks also cause problems.. Is there a way to get pre installed games so that i can directly execute the exe file for running the game straight from there without being bothered by installation process.. Just like how we used to transfer games in the old days through pendrives..

I tried CSGO already but I didn't like the shooting mechanics.

I wanted to try PUBG but ProtonDB convinced me otherwise.

I have been using fedora for a while but don't get me wrong I know nothing about linux since I haven't tried to do anything but basic things on it which I have conveniently forgot.
I am using the latest fedora, and whenever I try to open steam it gives me the message

Could you please help me, in a way I can understand because all linux help I see online makes me feel illiterate.

Does anyone have a possible fix for xdefiant cuz it crashes after a couple of matches , sometimes even in the first one or in the menu . I have followed most of the guides on YT and still its crashing. Is there any fix for this or do we just have to wait for an update. Thanks !!

I tried to run Minecraft 1.8.9 on Debian testing however it crashes with this error despite me installing OpenJDK 8 from the sid repo, 1.21 works, and this issue is present on both flatpak and deb, IIRC stable didnt have this issue.

Getting a 6800XT today, and I know my PSU should be fine (PCPartPicker Watt Calc), but I just wanted to see if there are any apps that can control the voltage control or the power limit so I don't get crashes based on power.

I am playing Kingdom Come Deliverance with the Heroic Game Launcher since I was given a free copy a couple of years ago on the Epic store, but sometimes I still play it on Windows when I need to have this OS.

However, seems that I have to manually replace the save files from Linux to Windows and viceversa. I was wondering how I can make this process a bit more automatic. Since I can use Btrfs on Windows, I tried to create a link from the Linux's saves folder (original) to Windows, but in this case the game doesn't find any save files.

I tried to upload and force-upload the save files with Heroic in order to sync these, but Heroic in this case tries to infinitely upload without really finishing the task (unless it's just slow and it'll require more than a couple of hours, which I doubt).

I was also thinking about mounting as subvolume, but since Windows is with NTFS, I guess it wouldn't work (and I've never really understood subvolumes). I also think that Linux's symlinks would work on Windows otherwise. Does anybody here have any idea or solutions?

I want to learn more about linux and dump windows finally I cannot decide which distro install so I'm still investigating.

I'm about to try Debian and I have a couple of questions regarding gaming, I would like to know which of these options will work the best with my hardware and will give more fps and less input lag.

• I have a Ryzen 5 5600g with no dgpu, it would work fine?

• Should I go with Wayland or X11?

• Should I go with KDE or GNOME?

• Is Debian sid good for this purpose?
