I play my GOG games using GOG Galaxy, I installed it using the script provided in the Lutris website. I don't use the GOG launcher built in Lutris because it just does not work, no matter how many times I disconnect and try to reconnect, my games just don't appear, I don't know what is going on there.

The GOG Galaxy takes about 5 minutes to launch, and once I'm in, it scrolls up and down slowly, or has small freezes / lags.

I'm currently in Arch, but I experienced this with Manjaro, Fedora 39 and 40, and Linux Mint. (I have been trying different distros these past two years).

For those who have experienced this and made their GOG Galaxy run smoother, any advice?

So I am new to ubuntu and I learned looots of things about the OS. And I decided to download Roblox studio on it. The original roblox works wholesome and amazing (from Sober). But the Studio, when I tried it with Wine, It was giving me errors when Im Logging in. Grapejuice? Well, it crashed all the time. Any suggestions about downloading roblox studio on ubuntu?

I'm hoping that one of you might help me out with this,

For some reason when I'm using an external monitor i get real low frames with the UFOTest, maybe this test is not the most reliable but the screen does seem to lag.

When it comes to reasons i'm betting that is related to my current drivers or lack of wayland support.(which I'm not 100% sure since I get 240fps(with the laptop screen) on the UFOTest vs the 28 with my main monitor)

Details about my system:
Distro: Fedora 41 (silverblue, Bazzite)
Graphics: 4080m 565.57.01 (I know... this probably wouldn't happen if I had an AMD)
Screen: Rox Strix xg32u
Resolution: 4k 144hz (yes lowering the resolution does seem to increase the frame rates but not by a lot, meaning it still lags.)

NOTE: Either with gnome extension or supergfxctl, I'm stuck in Hybrid mode, changes do not stick, no matter what I do.

Which is better ubuntu or debian and does it matter if its latest version or not (some told me debian 11 is better some says ubuntu 20,04 is better & upgrading to latest version of either of them reduces perfomance)

About kernel versions i have no idea which is the best which has the best perfomance etc.. until now i have found some xanmod.. clearlinux... linux generic these with some research have seen that are the best for gaming servers etcc

What im trying to do is host a dedicated game server and idk which do i use i keep switching kernels noticed that with xanmod the startup of the game server is slower but has a great perfomance and with linux generic is faster but seems bad perfomance...

if you dont know the difference in perfomance is there any command which i can check the differences they have so i notice which has the best perfomance?

Is anyone using game mode with either a 5700x3d CPU or 7900XT GPU and would like to share their settings? Or similar, I'm just curious what people are using especially with x3d CPUs. So far I left everything on default and didn't notice any difference while gaming tbh.

In the past the mods were only released for Windows, but the developer has in recent years also released widescreen fixes for emulators -- presumably cross-platform, provided that the emulator has a Linux build. From what I've played, the developer always attempts to also scale the HUD and game UI correctly.

It is worth noting that the mod pack hardly is limited to adding correct widescreen support -- the widescreen fixes may resolve compatibility issues, improve gamepad support, implement borderless fullscreen, allow customizing draw instance, among others.

I wish there's a "catch-all Wine override" which functions with most of the fixes.

TL;DR:

• Frame pacing feels shaped like a PWM, halved FPS (but still okayish)
• GPU usage drops to half of what is usually is
• Only happens when using my keyboard or mouse
• Doesn't happen when I use a controller
• Started happening recently, I know of no change to my system, HW or SW
• Doesn't present outside of Overwatch (afaik)

My specs:

• Ubuntu 22.04.3 LTS
• AMD Ryzen 5 3600 (12) @ 3.600GHz
• GPU: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 Lite Hash Rate
• RAM: 2x8GB
• 1 165hz monitor, 2 60hz ones
• Razer Basilisk V3 Pro (had some issues with dongles going bad)

What I tried:

• Not running anything else but OW
• Unplugging every USB device
• Adding __GL_SHADER_DISK_CACHE_SKIP_CLEANUP=1 to the Steam launch options
• Using a different version of Proton

I don't play many if any other games than Overwatch. Recently an issue started appearing - after about 30-40 minutes of playing, I'd start to experience stutters. FPS count still shows 80 but it feels like it renders at 160fps for half a second and then doesn't render anything the other half. I later realized this only happens when I'm using my keyboard or mouse, kill-cams, standing still, POTG, all crisp. I also have a DualShock controller but when I use it, the frame rate is steady.

Some possibly related, possibly unrelated issues:

• I have a slight artifacting near the top of my monitor - horizontal lines spanning the width of the monitor of incorrect color, only presenting in fullscreen apps
• I heard clicking from within my case a couple weeks back that stopped soon after, I backed up my HDD but it could be the PSU(?)

At this point I'm leaning towards it being a hardware issue, but I'd love a second take.

I went to play SCP:SL and it told me it was running on integrated graphics even though I have a good dedicated GPU

Arch detects it fine

The game works fine just it doesn't use the GPU how do I fix this

I don't currently own a ps4 or a ps5, however I was thinking about getting PS Plus in order to stream games to my pc. I am currently using Bazzite. My question is: can you set up Chiaki without owning a console for cloud gaming? Or is it not possible?

I'm just wondering if any of you are doing this. I know that old-school "persistent" installations couldn't load graphics drivers, but I'm assuming you can run GPU-accelerated games just fine from an SSD via a USB enclosure?

If this is possible, I am tempted to explore.

Hi, I'm trying to create mods for sonic adventure DX, on it's steam version, and I found a library called SonicAdventureIO which is the one used in windows and mostly all tools are for windows, the problem comes here, using wine causes chaos due to prefixes, and has a lot of crashes, as well as the MUSTHAVE .NET libraries, which won't work on blender, can someone help me or show me a guide to create mods on linux?

im on garuda linux and i use nvidia driver 565 and it gives me screen glitches in some games, performance get's lower than 550 driver and some times freezes so is this driver stable or should i move to 550 and i should move which way is the safest to make the switch i have lenovo loq with rtx 3050 6gb
