hi i just started playing 2 days ago im on linux mint and therefore using the "an anime game launcher" to play but today i woke up with this error code

i googled it but all solutions i found were for the offical launcher (sth about ticking off the ac patch) but i cant find this option anywhere

i tried to repair both ingame and in the launcher both tell me that there is nothing to repair

i restarted my pc multiple times

do i rlly have to uninstall and install again (i rlly try to avoid this since my internet sucks and im gonna be downloading for like half a day)

I abandoned windows last year and when I mean abandon I mean all my disks are entirely ext4 and filled with data. I don't plan to go back but yesterday I encountered a bug from three years ago that nearly destroyed my soul and has left me to write this little rant.

The game is Fallout New Vegas. The first issue I encounter with MSAA on an AMD GPU. White spots would seem to flicker everywhere. The solution was to either turn off MSAA which looks terrible or to set the proton winecfg to override the d3d9 to use native first.

I am curious as to why that is. My understanding is the default built in dll is provided by proton no? Or technically the wine component within proton. That using native is using the directx version that was installed to the prefix when the game is first setup aka system32 or system64 version of the dll. If a game sets up directx to the prefix on first run how come valve is not defaulting to that and setting an override in the prefix from the get go?

The other issue I had was with the radio not playing. I noticed they are all mp3's so I immediately thought a dependency was missing because for older games like everquest I have to use timidity++ for the ancient music tech.

Turns out wine packages gstreamer but not the gstreamer plugins which old Bethesda games require. In my case gst-plugins-good.

I nearly seppuku'd myself over these issues but now I can say I finally understand. I'm staying for the lower draw call overhead for cpu intensive games and the desktop experience is just much better than windows.

Also this gstreamer plugin issue plagues debian/ubuntu and Fedora. I will continue learning but no way in hell I could recommend linux to anyone. Thats just the tip of the iceberg. Imagine trying to teach your windows buddy how to mount disks to fstab let alone how to play games without serious troubleshooting efforts. Good luck getting anyone to learn this let alone have sufficient google fu to do so. Linux will remain 2% and niche for the foreseeable future.

EDIT: I didn't even mention the required env variable. Vulkan handles alpha to coverage differently due to missing extension. A minor issue but feels like something a hotfix could address.

I've completed elden ring on my old xbox since I've gotten a steam deck recently I'm wondering what would be the best option to get a complete save. Should I port online saves on my account, or edit my own, and what programs should I use?

Keep having a thought of buying a budget windows PC that can sit atop my current PC that I can use some sort of RDP software (but built for gaming) so I can run the windows games I play (LoL, valo, BO6 when it releases... maybe), would prevent me having to hop back and forth and provide proper segregation. The specs shouldnt need to be too huge as at least LoL and valo are super easy to run

Windows already have Prism to emulate x86 instructions for arm, that apparently only gives a 10% performance gap comparing to native run.

I know that some applications can run over wine, but that's not enough.

This is a huge thing and has the potential of finishing the x86 handheld market, since x86 are way more power hungry than Arm, it would be really important if Linux did not stay behind.

So i have two PCs with Sunshine installed on them and Moonlight installed on my Android Smartphone. When I launch Sunshine on my Laptop the Android device can connect without a problem. I did not do any setup for my Laptop and it just worked out of the box (Windows 11 is running on the Laptop). When I launch sunshine on my Desktop (Linux Mint with modern Kernel and KDE Plasma + nVidia 4070) The smartphone cannot find the device and if i enter the IP address manually it fails asking me if I port forwarded the relevant ports even though I am in the same network. When I open Moonlight on the Laptop it also cannot find my desktop but the error message I get when entering the IP manually is cannot connect to device. I tried numerous troubleshooting guides and the one on the official GitHub. I port forwarded all the relevant ports. I also could not find an uninstall guide so I could reinstall sunshine. Is there a fix for my problem and where can I find an uninstall script for sunshine? (I am running sunshine version 0.23.1.8b21db6.dirtyVersion 0.23.1.8b21db6.dirty)

SOLVED:
The firewall was the problem. For a fix allow the forwarded ports in the firewall configuration menu.

Hey everyone,

I'm working on a program that is meant to be a replacement for the Deepcool Digital Windows software. I'm working in Rust and tried to make it a tray app, which made things pretty complicated.

For now, it's a simple CLI app which can be run with arguments and it should work with all the AK DIGITAL series CPU coolers. I also made instructions to run it as a systemd service.

My plan is to keep the program simple and lightweight and add support to as many devices as possible. Plus I have a concern that the way I read the sensor information might not work on every machine, but I have limited information about that.

I'm open to any help, information or contribution. Just write me a comment or a DM.

Im on arch linux and i keep getting disconnected from cs2 and dota 2 servers . Other games such as Hell Let loose , Tf2 and gmod seem to be working fine its only valve official servers???

I have no idea why this is happening any help will be appreciated. Thanks

I'm having some issues starting the Epic Game launcher in Lutris with all but a handful of wine runners and it's causing some issues with certain games. This doesn't appear to be a problem with Heroic but I'm not seeing any way to update launch settings in bulk which was possible in Lutris.

There is a default settings panel but it only seems to apply to newly created games and I actually bricked my last installation by screwing around with the default gamescope settings.

Basically, they wouldn't show up in the newly created game settings for some reason but when I hit play it would in fact pass them and for some reason spawn a s*** load of windows until my OS crashed.

I managed to reproduce this issue twice with two separate games before giving up and reinstalling heroic.

Are there any workarounds or do people normally just go into game and update them one by one?

And iv'e been trying to get wallpaper engine working because I love live wallpaper's, but that don't seem to work either.
