PS5 Dualsense Acting as a mouse - Not usable as touchpad
Hi, i bought PS5 dualsense to play games on steam. The problem is that some games use touchpad push as an input: for example in dying light it opens crafting menu. However, as soon as i touch the touchpad it turns the input into keyboard and mouse -> not beeing able to use its intended function.
I am on fedora 42 gnome, and disabling touchpad in gnome settings also diasbles its push function. I have searched everywhere and i have not found a solution. This is making me not able to play any games which use touchpad push in any capacity, basically making all the purchases i did useless.. any help?

Wireless keyboard and mouse
Hi everyone,
I am looking for a wireless keyboard and a mouse fully supported in Linux. Basic criterias are:
- No RGB (or optional).
- Any related software is optional, especially without Linux support (I don't really need all these programmable features).
- Cable + Bluetooth + 2.4ghz for both pieces.
- Plug and play with any modern distro without an additional set up or tweaking.
- Full size mechanical keyboard.
- (optional) Metal keyboard case material.
Keyboard and mouse can be from different vendors, it doesn't really matter.
Will appreciate any help and reviews, thank you!

NVIDIA is working on a general optimization for VKD3D
From an NVIDIA moderator:
While looking at Horizon Zero Dawn Linux performance we identified a general optimization that benefits multiple titles with VKD3D. It is still in development.

DXVK not working on steam games
I'm on ubuntu. I'm trying to use lsfg-vk to get better performance in games. But for that the needs to be in vulkan. I'm trying it on Clair obscure: Expedition 33. But the game natively doesn't have vulkan option. I tried using the latest Ge proton but the DXVK still doesn't work. What am I doing wrong?

Switched to CachyOS (Arch) & starting to regret it
hey everyone, i recently switched from PopOS to CachyOS , gaming doesn't work, i game through heroic launcher, first off installing the games was a pain and the setup.exe don't really work (guessing it's a permissions issue) and as for the games i have, i installed all dll components necessary and yet nothing, they don't launch, i even downloaded cachy's version of proton and yet it doesn't work, if anyone has any experience with gaming in Arch, i would appreciate your help, and one more thing, PCSX2 and Cemu are working fine, so for now i can only emulate i guess.
also audio decides to stop working every now and then

Replacement for Hunt Showdown
I usually play Hunt Showdown, but unfortunately the developers have managed to mess up EAC for Linux. Now I have to find a suitable replacement. What FPS games do you play? If possible an extraction shooter, but it doesn't have to be. What do you recommend?

What mobile games can I run on Linux?
I currently play these games on my cell phone, I have a Lenovo Thinkpad T490 with i7 8665u with 24gb ram uhd620, I'm going to download BazziteOs on it, I'm going to dual boot it just to play Valorant on Windows and I'm going to leave Linux as the main one, as I recently got it I'm still using it in games, I know it's not very powerful, I have to change the cooler because it heats up a lot, but it should be enough to play something.

Is there a way to recover my backups with this error message when I boot Bazzite?
I'm literally crying. I had reached the end of tlou for the first time while doing it on my rog and trying to increase the size of my bazzite partition in order to install cyberpunk.
I must have messed up on GParted and now I get this error when booting up.

Protesting
Warning this is kind of a rant
I've seen many posts on here advocating for dual booting. Let me start by saying that if you need to dual boot because there is not a Linux version of the product or wine can't translate it either, go right ahead I have no issues with that. What I do have an issue with is for people that bend the knee to major corporations destroying products or invading people's privacy, then the same people put down others that advocate for Linux.
Microsoft has a monopoly of the tech industry, we all know this, all their products are legal spyware, this is known to tech users. Nearly all software nowadays is spyware. We know this. But the average person does not. This is a major issue because normal people. Many do not know any of these issues that windows have, some know and simply do not care because they live under the impression of "if you have nothing to hide then your fine" train of thought.
Now for gaming, kernel level anti-cheats should be abolished. It is legal spyware, again when people are on windows the same issues prevail they don't know this stuff they only care that the game runs and plays! They scroll past the teams and conditions. When they do learn about it it's the same mentality if you have nothing to hide your fine, and just ignore it. When people are advocating for dual booting you are giving up the whole purpose of Linux, to have a competitor to the monopoly that is windows. Linux as we all know stands for privacy as well so if you think it's okay to just play games or go over to windows you are saying it's okay to be spied on. As for the gaming industry. I see people advocating dool booting to windows to play games that have anti cheats. There is kernel level anti-cheat now in nearly every game. I personally am protesting all of this, I do not buy any game that has kernel level anti-cheats, I only purchase indi games now. This is something I believe all of us should be doing is supporting more indi devs. Now I will not be playing or supporting any game with anticheats because kernel level anti-cheats DO NOT work. Cheaters are always 3 steps ahead when it comes to cheating and they always will be. Cheats have gotten so good that they are impossible to detect anymore. Seriously there are full documentaries you can look up and watch showcasing how far cheating has come. Companies have gotten away with this crap because people just allow it, people don't have the backbone to just not buy a game to boycott said game or such companies that introduce legal spyware into their games.
Now for work applications I think people that say using alternative open source tools like gimp or libre office are not good or difficult are not trying to use them, these tools work just fine I've been using them myself and they get the job done well. These tools also understand that they are getting people to migrate over so they literally make it easy for people by changing their schemes so that people recognize all the tools necessary, take this with a grain of salt because I only use these tools for school, not for corporate work.
In conclusion I find it so confusing that seeing so many people bend the knee to Microsofts death grip on the industries and stop fighting for or advocating for Linux.

Installed SteamOS on PC. Now stuck on motherboard flash screen!
Hi all, looking for some help. Installed SteamOS on one of my pcs. Installation went ok. But after the reboot its now stuck on the motherboard flash screen. I have tried to reinstall it multiple times and always gets stuck here. I already tried disabling secure boot. Tried to flash the usb drive with both rufus and balena etcher. Using an AMD GPU. Not sure what else can I do to fix this.

Oblivion remade in the Skyrim engine, Skyblivion is on the final stretch to release
Fixing anti cheating issues by playing on Windows?
I do it like this. I only have a Windows install for anti cheat games, and no personal data whatsoever on the said PC. When i want, I just plug that SSD. Whats the point if this you ask? Well, on Windows PC there is no personal data to data mine from, since there is only games now.
But, I wonder if I should unplug my Linux disks too? Can those anticheat malware software stuff probe my Linux disks? They are btrfs. I highly suspect that windows can read btrfs and maybe ext4 without letting us know. How would we know if they did anyway? The windows is closed source.

Linux destroys Windows in native gaming performance.
I was wondering how much better is ZorinOS (the Linux distro i'm daily driving) than Windows 11 in terms of native Gaming performance, so i downloaded Minecraft on both, the game is natively supported on both Systems. downloaded a Modpack and tested both.
Sure enough, I got about 50-70% more FPS on ZorinOS than on windows 11 (as you can see on the top left corner) with the game on Zorin reaching a maximum of 460FPS and on Windows 11 a maximum of 250FPS (Couldn't get more accurate avg results, sorry).
These numbers aren't the most accurate, since i didn't use MSI afterburner or MangoHUD to get Avgs. but it gives a very good idea about how inefficient windows is. and by the way, The game seemed to consume more ram and GPU power on Windows as you can see on the right and left top corners.
Something that confused me tho, was that when i tried the game with Shaders, i got the exact same FPS on both systems, a maximum of 36FPS (bad i know, its an R 5600g).
