Make optimized sunshine/moonlight server and client.
I'm planning to turn my old laptop into a moonlight/steamlink machine (most likely Moonlight) and connect it to my TV, so I wanted to know if you guys know a good linux distro or just something like plain arch with little delay and software configuration.
I know that I will also will need a dummy hdmi plug if this ends up working like I wanted it to, so I would also ask if you guys have like a recommendation for hdmi 2.1 plug or something similar with also a way to connect my laptop to the TV, because it only has 2 usb c ports and 1 usb a port (usb c ports support displayport and I'm using the usb a for usb to ethernet adapter).
Edit: just to be clear, my PC is the host not the laptop.

What to get from Protontricks
Skyrim SE
SSE engine fixes require: Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable for Visual Studio 2019
BUT Community Shaders require Microsoft Studio C++ Redistributable(is this the vcrun 2022???)
will both work if I just get vcrun 2022 or do I also need to get vcrun 2019?

Steam windows pop up while playing with Proton
See the screenshot. These will pop up relentlessly if I try to close them. It seems best if I just let them stay open in the background, then I can continue playing as I normally would.
It doesn't seem to be affected by the version of Proton I use, just when I use Proton at all. Native games don't seem to be affected, I don't think.
I can't seem to get any results about this when I search, I get unrelated posts and information.
Debian 13, AMD 5600X, AMD Radeon 6750XT, non-Flatpak Steam

Proton/Wine
Hello. As far as I know, every gaming oriented distro has proton and/or wine pre installed in it, or am I wrong? Also, if I try to install steam or some other alternative gaming store, it would install proton, or not? I'm asking because I was curious about playing linux-native AA or AAA 3D games. Sorry if I asked dumb/noob questions 😅 Thanks anyway.

High CPU usage
I just got Arch Linux 3 days ago for the first time because alot of friends recommended, and started gaming via Steam proton .
The problem is I keep getting high CPU usage and frames drops on non demanding games such Disco Elysium and Zenless zone zero even old games like GTA5 the usage average 90-80% while the GPU doesn't even hit the 60%, games when I play those same games on windows I get more frames and CPU usage less than 70%.
My specs i5 9600 RTX3070 32gb ram ddr4 1TB SSD nvme .
I'm new to Linux in general , so I expected to run into troubles

Gaming Performance Issues on Windows - Considering Linux Switch for MSI Alpha 17
What is the performance difference between nvidia on Linux and windows in Alan wake 2 with ray tracing?
Look, I'm still using Linux in a simple way, in a virtual machine, but I'm enjoying it, having a pleasant experience and thinking about changing completely when I change my laptop, but I'm looking forward to playing a lot of Alan wake 2 with ray tracing and such and I wanted to know if there would be a considerable drop in FPS or not. I currently have an RTX 2050 and it doesn't run the game, I'm planning one with the 4060. I'd like to know if there's a difference or not, would it pay to stay on windows just to finish the game and then migrate. This is the only one I have doubts about, the other games I've seen on proton run well.

Steam input and dualsense not detected by Dirt Rally 2 or detected as dinput gamepad, I want the game to recognize my dualsense as an xbox controller
I have tried deleting compatdata for the game, enabling and disabling steam input, using different proton versions, reinstalling steam, manually installing xinput using protontricks. So far nothing worked, and I either get unusable glyphs (1, 2, 3, 4, etc...) or no response from my controller

Does anyone know about steam millennium?
https://steambrew.app/ it's an addon for steam that allows you to change the theme and add plugins to it, currently it has some nice plugins such as SteamDB Integration or another one to integrate SteamGridDB into the client so you can switch images easily, but i was asking in case someone knows about programming and could make a plugin that integrates ProtonDB into the client, so when we see a game's store page it fetches the info from the game (such as the rating and % of game sucessfully working) and shows it on the store
BTW: https://gamebanana.com/requests/79059 i made a request on gamebanana and added a bounty of 3000 points, so if you're a gamebanana user and would like some points you can fulfill my request there

Marvel Rivals crashing
Is anybody still getting regular crashes on Rivals with Nvidia cards? I have a machine with an AMD card but its currently down at the moment so this is just a backup one.
Backup rig specs, currently on Bazzite
5600G
32GB RAM
3060 GPU
I have tried different proton versions, different startup commands, checking drivers, and I still can't get more than 15 min out of this game without it hard crashing, sometimes even requiring a reboot.

Linux Gaming Still Has a Way to Go.. Bazzite on a Laptop Review
Screen flicker issues with freesync in games and on desktop
Hi, i've been getting some screen flickering issues recently with bazzite. I have a 2k 165hz screen and while on desktop or in game when nothing was happening and my FPS would go beyond 165 even though its capped my screen would start to flicker. I've solved that by going to system settings and setting adaptive synchronization from "ON" to "Automatic".
Now i'm getting issues with VRR and freesync in games that are not exclusive fullscreen and since i have 3 screens, i'm not running anything in fullscreen mode and everything is a stuttery mess because of it.
I'm playing world of warcraft in Fullscreen (windowed) because there is no fullscreen in the settings, i managed to get lutris -> bnet -> wow.exe working through gamescope with VRR enabled, terminal says that VRR is enabled but it clearly isnt, because the game visibly stutters.
My other screens are 2k 144hz and they dont have the flickering issue no matter the settings. The monitor that is causing issues is working fine on MAC and WINDOWS with HDMI 2.1 cable and with DP 1.4 cable.
My question is - Where should i look for a problem?
I have no clue from which directon to tackle this. I've managed to somewhat solve it but it is very far from ideal. I have Lutris running through gamescope from the terminal. Lutris is running Battle.net which i use to launch wow with custom command to launch it in fullscreen. When i check ingame settings it's still Fullscreen (windowed) just like before but now VRR is visibly working. FPS are jumping up and down yet the screen is not stuttering, nor flickering, but i don't want to launch lutris through terminal.
Thanks to anyone who finds a while to help.
