Horipad for steam is sending mixed inputs!?
No matter how many times i choose new mouse and keyboard template on steam for "horipad for steam" buttons send both inputs xinput and keyboard, what should i do? This never happened on cachyos? Did i failed udev rules but the gyro is working now or its something else? I really need to fix this because it makes many games unplayable. On internet you have udev rules for arch based distros/steam deck but there are non for debian based ones like PikaOs, so i created those myself but i am not sure if this is correct, gyro is working now but maybe there is a mistake so its working partially and causing double input issues i have?Help..

AMD Clock Speeds
so i've noticed that my system never reaches it's set clock speed, in fact it actually seems to be actively avoiding reaching it.
setting my clock speed to a max of 2609 [the default for my card] gives me around 1750-2200 [jumping around erratically]
if I instead set the max to 1700 [arbitrary number] it begins jumping from 1550-1650
setting it to 2800 [the max i'm allowed] puts me at 1830-2300
i'm doing these through CoreCtrl, my system is a Radeon 6700XT and a Ryzen 9 3950X
I am using the Linux-Zen kernel and the game i've done the majority of testing on is Resident Evil 4 Remake with the launch options [mangohud gamemoderun %command% /WineDetectionEnabled:False]; the game is using [GE-Proton9-27]
i've tried increasing the power limit to the max it allows [it defaults at 186W and can max to 213W, although neither option ever passes 150W] {oddly enough it will actually reach 213W on the main menu and mangohud will display that it is power throttling}
i've also ran my fans at a constant 100% speed to assure that temps are remaining low during testing this so it's not thermal throttling

is there a way to use themes on steam big picture without using decky?
I have tried installing decky loader, but the thing is that I think is not compatible with my distro since it use runit and not systemd (it gives me some errors related to systemctl). is there a way to change the theme without using decky loader? I know I can change the box arts. I want to use the hero theme

Anti-Cheat sucks
I genuinely hate the fact I'm forced to use Windows for things like mods, and Games that use Anti-Cheat
It's stupid is what it is. You know what's even funnier to me? Fortnite and GTA Online both run on my PS5 (Which runs an OS based off FreeBSD) But refuse to work on Linux
Despite FreeBSD and Linux both having Unix like systems. (In PS5's case, it is custom so that's why it works)
But Linux Gaming will never overtake windows until Anti-Cheat either works, or is banned entirely.

Unusable static and artifacting display
I'm at my wit's end trying to get my NVIDIA RTX 3090 Ti to work correctly with my LG Ultragear+ which is a 4K 240Hz display, but it can be swapped to 1080 480hz. I am on a fresh EndeavourOS (KDE Plasma) installation.
The Problem:
No matter what I try, as soon as the system boots into the graphical environment (or tries to), the display turns into "TV static" and is completely unusable. This happens in both Wayland and X11 Plasma sessions.
System Details:
CPU: Ryzen 9 7950X3D
OS: EndeavourOS (latest, fresh install). ive installed it using the online installer off a usb stick so everything is up to date right off the bat.
GPU: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3090 Ti
NVIDIA Driver Version: 570.144
Bootloader: systemd-boot
Display: 4K @ 240Hz (connected via HDMI)
(Possibly relevant): amdgpu kernel modules are also loaded, I have both Monitors is connected to the 3090 Ti. the second one is a 1440p 165 hz with no reported issues.
Troubleshooting Steps Taken So Far:
Installed nvidia, nvidia-utils, nvidia-settings packages via pacman.
Blacklisted nouveau driver using a .conf file in /etc/modprobe.d/.
Added nvidia_drm.modeset=1 to the options line in my systemd-boot entry file.
Regenerated initramfs using sudo dracut-rebuild.
Tested both Wayland and X11 KDE Plasma sessions – the "TV static" issue is identical in both.
lsmod | grep nvidia shows all NVIDIA modules (nvidia, nvidia_drm, nvidia_modeset, nvidia_uvm) are loaded.
nvidia-smi works perfectly, correctly identifies the GPU, shows "Disp.A : On", and lists processes like Xorg, kwin_wayland, Xwayland, and plasmashell using the GPU.
journalctl -b -p err -g nvidia --no-pager shows no NVIDIA-related kernel errors.
I genuinely dont know what to do. ive tried everything. tried using pacman -S nvidia... or nvidia-inst
or nvidia-open. Tried downgrading by one driver version. I simply dont understand.
Edit, i know the panel, GPU and cables are all good. These all worked at their intended resolution on Windows 11.
Here is a video of the issue

Mesa 25.0.6 released with AMD GPU fixes for DOOM: The Dark Ages on Linux
Been testing out CachyOS on my laptop for a couple of weeks now, one big problem.
This is actually a problem on my steam deck too. Anytime I plug the device into an exterior device (TV or monitor) that has built in speakers, I can't get the sound to pass through the HDMI. Any idea what could be going on? LG OLED TV and a portable monitor with speakers are the two things I've tested, but same results on both. Occasionally it'll randomly work, but most of the time despite lots fiddling around in sound settings, I can't get the sound out of the TV speakers. This is the one hangup I've had, otherwise the experience is great. I'll boot back over to windows (separate drive) when I need to use the TV screen and speakers, and windows just feels so slow in comparison. Any advice on things to look for? Been looking in the arch wiki, but a lot of the posts are old, and a lot of the drivers they recommend checking are enabled and working. Sorry, pretty new to this too. Not sure if I am missing something obvious.

Bazzite issues
So I don't know if this is a permissions issue or what but I installed Bazzite today and the os itself is working without issue. It looks alot like arch even though its fedora based. anyway none of my steam games run.
I have the games on a separate ssd and they worked today when I was on arch. I didn't redownload them, do I need to? Does steam log why a game doesn't launch? If so where can I find the logs?
I ran:
sudo chmod a+rwx /var/mnt/Games/Steam
Which is where my games are mounted at.

Nvidia settings issue on wayland
Linux newbie here,I recently installed arch on my laptop and everything works fine. Played a bot of cs2 and it was ok. So i was trying to get to make gsync work adn found out tha it can be done with nvidia-settings i intsalled it and when i opened it up it was missing a lot of features.I am using hyprland..My laptop is a legion 5 pro with Ryzen 7 5800h and rtx 3070
I am using the latest 570 driver from nvidia. Tried both dkms and non dkms versions. So out of curiosity i installed plasma and tried running the tool in x11 and wayland. On the wayland version its the samething in hyprland. But in X11 i have more options.. Is there any fix or workaround this,I really like hyprland and i dont want to switch to plasma

Performance Concern of Linux on a GTX 1650 laptop
Hello I'm one of those lifelong windows users finally deciding to jump ship for the penguin
I've done the research on drivers, desktops and apps and I'm fine with all that
My only catch is that I'm running a laptop with an Intel i7 and GTX 1650 Hence gpu performance is already a concern on windows
The games i generally play are euro truck simulator 2, dirt rally 2, need for Speed heat i get 60 to 80 fps in these games and I'm satisfied with that, although I may pick up any new game here and there and play it for a bit . these new Unreal engine games barely run above 55 to 60fps on my laptop.
I understand proton is a translation layer, and there is performance loss, how much loss do i have to expect. Is the performance loss that great that I may have to consider staying on windows?
And no i do not have the funds to upgrade right now , staying with this for another 2 or 3 years.
Would love your advice on this thank you :)

I found my perfect distribution: Manjaro
A week ago I installed Manjaro on my computer as my main system. I only recently got to Linux this year. First, I tried Pop OS. I liked the modified Gnome environment, but it had very mediocre audio drivers. I opted for Archcraft to have ALSA (excellent sound), but I missed Gnome, so I went back to Linux Mint. This also has ALSA for audio. However, Gnome isn't well integrated in Linux Mint. The dock is hidden behind the start button (why?), and there's no notification area, so if I forget to close Steam, it'll be open. Hidden, but open.
So I decided to try another Arch-based distribution, but this time one that came with Gnome already built in and ALSA audio drivers, so I chose Manjaro.
Oh my God, everything just works here, including HDR! I had recently read somewhere that HDR on Linux doesn't work well, but here it works perfectly, fully mature. To my surprise, when I opened the settings menu and simply activated the HDR option with a single click, my screen flickered in a few moments, activating HDR mode, 10-bit color! Now I'll finally enjoy watching anime and movies again.
As for everything else regarding programs I've had to install, everything is in the store: Steam, VLC, Peazip, Handbreak, Lutris. Even OSU, which I had to install via console, works perfectly; in fact, it worked better than on any other distribution I've previously tried.
Oh, in case you're wondering what monitor I'm using, it's the 29-inch LG 29WQ500-B.
And that's it, I wanted to show my gratitude for finding the perfect setup for me and my computer. Thanks for reading.
