Sched ext is one of the best scheduler I have ever used. Everything is just feels snappier, how come I don't see it recommend more?

Hey, someone can help me with that? my arma 3 is getting all of my RAM memory, i'm recently migrate from windows and it is normal a week's ago, but today that going with this trouble. I'm trying to lower the graphics, update the system and add some configs on parameters, on game launcher, but not actually works.

After installing Titanfall 2 as I have a movement shooter itch, the EA App just refuses to install with the error code INST-14-1603

First I tried installing the EA App through Wine. It'll install, but then throw out a few errors(mostly nonsense that doesn't help unfortunately, I looked) and crash completely.

Then I tried a multitude of different Proton versions ranging from Proton 7.0 to the one CachyOS ships with. Still nothing. According to ProtonDB the game SHOULD work and DID work about a week ago, but about a month ago is when the EA App started being a problem.

Has anyone found a fix for this yet?

Running CachyOS Kernel 6.15.6, a Ryzen 7 2700x and an RX 590.

Hi, I was looking for some advice on which distro I could use to play and at the same time allow me to use mongodb without problems.

In the past I have already used some distros like Fedora 42 (had problems with mongodb alongside selinux), Mint, EndeavourOS and Ubuntu 25.0.4, but in the end I went back to Windows 11 because I had encountered some problems and needed to use Vernier software for a university course.

Anyway the laptop in question is an ideapad gaming 3 15ach6 (i know about the existence of a page for this laptop in the arch wiki) with: • Cpu: amd ryzen 5 5600H • Gpu: nvidia rtx 3050 4gb vram • ram: 32gb

I'm open to suggestions on which distros I could try (excluding arch...).

I set up an Arch install (2025.07.01; fully updated) to check out the state of Linux gaming. Game runs extremely well - solid 120FPS. Using Wayland + Cinnamon. Only problem is Ctrl, Alt and Shift don't work in-game. Item transfer from backpack to stash is Shift+Click - which sucks to do manually! I've tried a few different Proton versions but haven't yet found a fix. Any workaround or solution?

Is there a good soundboard software for playing audio files through the microphone via hotkey? The only one I can find, Soundux, has a whitelist system so you can only use supported applications (🤮)

I've been watching lots of videos about linux and gaming and I kinda wanna start a project with it. This project im thinking about is a very cheap laptop which i mod/ change the specs into better ones then install linux. Then i use this laptop for gaming! The games are mainly on steam or i emulate them from the internet using pxs3 etc.. I wouldn't be playing games like valorant or cs or r6s because i heard it wouldnt work with linux; which i dont know if its true. I am a COMPLETE noob.. so pls no hate and give me advice?

I'm on Ubuntu and I'm really struggling to get Battle.net running properly with Lutris and Wine.

I install it using the Lutris installer, and everything seems fine at first — the login window opens. But the installation window stays open in the background the whole time.

I waited quite a while thinking it might finish on its own, but it didn’t. So I proceeded to log in. After logging in, Battle.net throws an error and I can't see the store, my library, or any games. After a bit, it freezes completely and I get the “App is not responding” window. Meanwhile, the original installation window is still open the entire time.

If I close Battle.net, the installer remains running, and I’m forced to cancel it. But if I cancel it, Battle.net doesn’t get saved in my library and I have to go through the whole install process again from scratch.

Has anyone found a way to make this work properly? Any tips would be appreciated.

Finally got Steam working on my Radxa Orion o6 with Bred OS, FEX-Emu and an AMD RX 6500 XT and it actually runs really well!

Only downside so far: controller support doesn’t work yet (kernel limitation, can be patched though), but keyboard and mouse are fine. For an ARM SBC, this setup is seriously fire.

Not sure if this is the right place to ask, not sure if any one in here play Arma3 at all. But I'll take my shot

I can toggle 3rd person view. But the moment I hit any key on the keyboard it will immediately switch back to 1st person.
Tried all version of proton yield the same result. I was using Proton Experiment in the video

Only happen on Linux, not windows.
Windows and Linux share same setting, identical config

There was one time that it works. I played a single player scenario, 3rd person view didn't work at first, but 30 mins in and I tried toggle 3rd person view (like a habbit) and it persist. But once i finish the mission, that happen again.

I'm having persistent GPU underutilization issues after switching from i3wm to Hyprland on Arch Linux. The issue is most noticeable in Counter-Strike 2.

In CS2, the GPU usage is around 90% in the menu, drops to about 66% during the pre-round phase, and then drops even further to 40–50% once the round begins. This causes noticeable FPS drops and a generally unstable experience. Under i3wm, everything ran smoothly with high GPU usage and no drops like this.

So far I've tried launching CS2 via Gamescope with Gamemode and MangoHud using:
gamescope -f -r 144 -w 1920 -h 1080 -- mangohud gamemoderun %command%
This didn’t help — the GPU usage still drops when gameplay starts.

I’ve also made adjustments in my Hyprland config, including forcing the monitor mode to 1920x1080@144, disabling animations, and trying to force fullscreen through window rules. In-game, I set fps_max 0 and mat_vsync 0, and I verified that the monitor is actually running at 144Hz using hyprctl monitors.

Despite all this, the problem persists. It feels like the game is being limited by sync behavior or poor fullscreen handling under Wayland/XWayland. It might also be tied to the way CS2 is presented through XWayland rather than natively through Wayland.

I’d love to stay on Hyprland but right now this issue is a dealbreaker. Any help or suggestions would be hugely appreciated. My setup is RX 7600 + Ryzen 5 5600G.
