HELP: Emulated game save files work properly on windows but not on bazzite, Switch Animal crossing new horizons (ACNH)
Okay, so I've been playing animal crossing new horizons just fine on bazzite, then I wanted to put other save files to play, and now I get a message as if the virtual switch no longer wants to accept these new files (or the original files) as healthy and tells me they're damaged and I have to start over.
The crazy thing is that these files work just fine on the same emulator on windows...
I have tried different emulators as well but no luck, I want to be able to play this game on bazzite because I have it on a handheld.
The specs: system - bazzite 43 ; using emudeck with ryujinx (1.3.3)/Eden(0.0.3) ; switch firmware: 19.0.1 also tried (20.3.0 and 20.5.0) ; animal crossing update: 2.0.8 ; Device: Lenovo Legion Go 1
The thing is that I get the erros once the game is launched... It's weird
So I'm going crazy over this... On linux is just not working properly and I don't know how to fix it...
Someone that understands linux better please help!! I Don't want windows in my handheld :(((((

Can't get game stream to work
Trying to stream from my PC running Cachy OS to other devices. Primarily I want to stream to my Android handheld but I'm having the same issue when trying to stream to other PCs running Linux or Windows as well. Steam loads on the client device and I can navigate through the store and library but if I open the side menu or launch a game the screen on the client device goes black. I've still got audio and controls working through the client device I just can't get video. I've included a screenshot of my remote play settings on my host PC but I don't know what other info is relevant so feel free to ask. I tried googling the issue but I'm not seeing anything that seems like it's exactly the same problem as I'm having or if so I just didn't understand what they were saying to do to fix it.

Any way to get vulkan or opengl 4.6 working on amd radeon drivers?
I have an r7 260x that i need for outputting 15khz signals to a crt. I believe (although im not 100% sure) that i need to be on radeon drivers and not amdgpu to output 15khz signals. The issue is that on the radeon drivers vulkan doesn't work and opengl is at 4.5 and im not sure if it can be updated.
im on debian 13

I want to switch to Linux, help me pick a distribution and desktop environment
Specs :
GPU : AMD RX 6700 XT 16G
CPU : Ryzen 5 7600X
MB : MSI MAG B650 Tomahawk Wifi
SSD : Samsung EVO 990 2Tb
I've had Fedora Workstation and Windows 11 in dual boot for years. Tried running games in Fedora using Lutris (World of Warcraft, Path of Exile). Ran mostly fine (low quality text-to-speech in Weak Auras was annoying though). A bit lost in the gaming ecosystem of Linux (Lutris, gamescope, proton, the different launchers...)
I also do some occasional dev work on the same machine (Java, Python).
I want to setup a clean install, not sure which distro to pick : CachyOS, Nobara, Fedora...
I've thought about Bazzite but the immutability turned me off
Please help me decide, any advice is welcome

Proton's Windows filesystem question
Hello there!
Like many others I have migrated from Windows to Linux in the last few weeks (mint Cinnamon in my case) and so far, I'm enjoying very much the changes done, but I come to you with a question.
I'm using Steam and using Proton for games and it is creating some sort of Windows filesystem structure, in my case in '/mnt/driveE/Steam Games/SteamApps/compatdata/gameID/pfx/drive_c'
I'm wondering if it's possible to configure Proton to create that filesystem just once for all games instead of one time for every game that is installed. It's ok if it needs to expand in some place with each game.
I understand that Windows games are a bit of a mess in that sense and they all have their saved games in different places.
Anyway, thanks for all the support you all give the Linux newbies like me.

xfx quick 6700xt 12gb + linux
I want to get an XFX Quick 6700XT 12 GB graphics card and switch over from Windows to Linux (I do not trust Windows 11). Will this be a good setup for gaming and graphic design (Marvel Rivals, Warframe, Infinity Nikki, Brawlhalla, Outlast, Photoshop Illustrator, Premiere Pro, Blender, etc)

lib32-libdrm 2.4.126-1 update causes crashes on 32-bit Proton games on Arch Linux
So this was already posted here but it barely gained any traction so I think it would be good to give more attention to this. lib32-libdrm got an update that breaks 32 bit Proton games causing crashes.
The "solution" is to downgrade the package:
sudo pacman -U /var/cache/pacman/pkg/lib32-libdrm-2.4.125-1-x86_64.pkg.tar.zst
Now, I would love to report this bug to the package maintainers but I literally can't. Account registrations are disabled on the website, so the bug can't be reported, so that's cool. If anyone already has an account though, please report it:

3080 Linux performance
Well, mostly the title says it all. I'm sick and tired of Windows and its BS. I already have a work machine that uses Windows and I would like to move the gamedev/gaming environment to Linux.
I have a 9700X and 64GBs of DDR5 memory, so I'm not worried about performance.
What worries me is the RTX 3080 I attached to it five years ago. I've read a lot about Nvidia performance on Linux, but I'd like to know if an older card has had its issues ironed out over the years or if I'd still need to swap to an AMD card.
For the record, what I do most is:
- Unity
- The Critically Acclaimed MMORPG Final Fantasy XIV Online (you know the rest)
- Unreal Engine
- Blender
- Monster Hunter World and Wilds
- Rocket League
- Tetris Effect Connected
- Metric tons of indies and non-demanding games I'm not really that worried about but still
I also know that some games, like Destiny 2, won't get any Linux support and I don't care about them.
So, as both dev and gamer, what can I expect from my 3080 on Linux? I also don't care very much about Linux distros as I'll end up customizing everything anyway (I've used Linux before and indeed my local server runs it, so I'm not afraid of the terminal)

I’ve been considering moving to Linux for gaming, but I’m not sure yet, thoughts?
Hey, I’ve been debating about switching to Linux for a while now, basically the whole year. I’ve always liked how Windows is pretty much plug and play, you install something and it just works. That convenience has kept me from fully switching.
I’m wondering if Linux can give me a similar experience, or if it’s more of a “configure this, tweak that” kind of thing every time you want to get something running.
Also, I’m mainly a gamer, so I’d like to know if my favorite games actually run well on Linux. Stuff like:
- Roblox
- War Thunder
- The whole LEGO game lineup
- skate.
- and maybe Marvel Rivals too
Also, my specs are:
- Ryzen 5 5600
- RTX 4060
- 1TB Lexar SSD
- Gigabyte B550M D3SH
Not sure if these matter, but I figured I’d include them anyway.
Also, a list of apps
- VS Code
- Spotify
- Telegram
- OBS
- Medal
- Brave
- Qbitorrent
- Obsidian
- Wallpaper Engine
Would love to hear from people who’ve made the switch or play similar games on Linux. Also Which distribution is recommended. Im leaning more to Zorin/Mint (First time linux user btw)

Tried to get Zenless Zone Zero and Genshin Impact to work for 9 hours, please help
Hello everyone, I want to preface this and say that I am super new to Linux, and have been having a semi-good time so far. I've been trying to find solutions to the problems I come across myself, however I have a hard time parsing a lot of the text guides. So I am turning to you guys for some help.
My specs are:
Intel I5 12400f
RTX 3060Ti
16GB Ram
Currently on a fresh install of Ubuntu 25.10 (but I previously tried Ubunti 24.04.3 LTS)
I started out by trying to run both the ZZZ launcher installer, and normal HoyoPlay launcher through steam, using Proton Experimental as the compatibility option. This worked fine for the initial install, and after that was done I swapped the target exe from the installer, to the actual launcher exe. This resulted in nothing happening after clicking the "Play" button. I tried swapping around proton versions, but none worked.
Next I tried using Lutris, for Genshin this worked to get the launcher to start up, but after the game installed, it did not work, and reopening the launcher after closing it was not possible.
For ZZZ I managed to launch the game and get it to run the first time around, however, there were a lot of visual bugs, and most character models did not load, so I closed it. After which the launcher would not open up anymore, and any further installation tries didn't get much further than installing the game.
Then I tried to use the An Anime Game Launcher/ Sleepy Launcher.
This is a short one, because all I got was an error saying "Failed to list downloaded wine versions. No such file or directory (os error 2)"
Lastly I tried the Heroic launcher, which did manage the launcher of ZZZ, however I could not install the game because it said I only had 6 GB of storage, and I was not able to find any way of getting around that.
I would very much appreciate any help, because I really wanted to swap over to Linux. If you need any more information from me, let me know how to get it, and I will provide it.
Thanks a lot in advance, and I hope everyone reading this far has a wonderful day.

Linux is now better for singleplayer gaming?
I know that the multiplayer kernel level games doesn't work on Linux, but what about singleplayer gaming? Is Linux better than Windows now?
I play games like Elden Ring, Dark Souls, and similar games, all single player. I had seen some benchmarks where some Linux distros end up having more FPS and more 1%low(what generally means more stability)than Windows.
Will the performance of these kind of games be better in a beginner friendly distro, like Linux Mint or Zorin OS? There's some benchmarks showing that?
