ProtonHub, an open-source tool for managing “compatibility tools”, has been released in version v0.1.0.
Written in Rust with GTK 4 and libadwaita, it installs and manages Proton, Wine, DXVK and VKD3D for launchers such as Steam, Heroic, Lutris and Bottles.
A total of 18 tools are supported, including GE-Proton, Proton-CachyOS and vkd3d-proton. Downloads are verified by checksum, the tool can be set per game or in bulk, and automatic updates run via a systemd timer if wanted. ProtonHub also shows ProtonDB ratings and the Are We Anti-Cheat Yet status, and supports gamepad navigation in Steam Deck Game Mode.
