Arctis Sound Manager: version 1.2.33 released

Arctis Sound Manager has been released in version 1.2.33.

The tool manages audio settings for SteelSeries Arctis headsets on Linux, including microphone noise cancellation, external output routing and other audio features. After versions 1.2.31 and 1.2.32, which brought improved diagnostic reports and a new overview for unassigned applications, this release fixes a critical bug on SteamOS where audio channels could go completely silent despite appearing functional.

Fixed

  • SteamOS Audio Issue: Resolved a critical bug where channels could become completely silent on SteamOS despite appearing functional. The system was refusing ASM permission to connect channels to its own processing. The fix enables the app to recognize this refusal and request necessary permissions before retrying the connection.
  • Enhanced Bug Reports: Diagnostic reports now identify which programs own audio graph components and their system permissions, explaining refused connections. The asm-cli diagnose command and in-app report button now provide consistent information.
