Arctis Sound Manager: versions 1.2.31 and 1.2.32 released

Arctis Sound Manager has been released in version 1.2.31 - shortly after, version 1.2.32 followed.

The tool manages audio settings for SteelSeries Arctis headsets on Linux, including microphone noise cancellation, external output routing and other audio features. After version 1.2.30, which fixed a failed installation on Bazzite, SteamOS and Silverblue as well as a wrongly redirected virtual microphone output, these two new releases bring improved diagnostic reports, a new overview for unassigned applications and another fix for the container installation.

Changes in version 1.2.31:

Added

  • Improved diagnostic reports: the bug report feature now captures live audio device states rather than just listing available devices. Reports include the current state of each audio node (playing, idle, or asleep), connection topology between components, active audio processing details with glitch counters, ASM configuration snapshots, kernel audio subsystem information and application-specific device pinning details. The reporting interface remains unchanged - users interact with the same button and command as before, generating a readable plain text file.

Changes in version 1.2.32:

Added

  • Applications playing outside the Game / Chat / Media channels are now visible, and movable. A new Other applications section displays programs not assigned to standard channels, showing their current device and offering quick routing options. Users can dismiss items from the list without moving audio, with a “Show hidden” button to restore dismissed entries.

Fixed

  • Container installation on Bazzite, SteamOS, and Silverblue was failing due to missing signing keys. The installer now always prepares the necessary key for repository registration.
  • Bug reports now identify which output device serves as the system default, providing essential context for troubleshooting.
