Developer Robot Gentleman announces a major update for We Are The Dwarves - via Steam announcement.
It’s completely unexpected: the game originally released back in 2016, and stayed without notable updates for almost ten years. Hardly anyone would have expected a team to pick up development again after all this time.
We Are The Dwarves was originally released in 2016, and for a long time the game remained without updates. Almost ten years later, we have managed to return to the project, restore the development workflow, and bring together a team that is once again working on improving the game.
We are now preparing a new update, and it is coming very soon.
What to expect
The main goal of this update is to make We Are The Dwarves more convenient, more understandable, and more comfortable for both new and returning players.
- Reworked camera controls - vertical tilt, smoother rotation, movement around the active dwarf, and the ability to save a preferred camera angle.
- Improved upgrade menu - switch between dwarves directly inside the menu, compare upgrades more easily, and see more useful information.
- Better tutorials and hints - clearer explanations of game mechanics and improved loading screen tips.
- More responsive controls - easier ability cancellation, more reliable mouse target selection, and fixes for character behavior in combat.
- Quest and level improvements - fewer frustrating requirements, more visible important objects, and fixes for situations that could block or interrupt progression.
- Improved stealth for Shadow - stealth gameplay will become more logical and reliable.
- Optimization and technical fixes - interface fixes, performance improvements, and general quality-of-life changes.
