The extensive Fallout: New Vegas mod “New California” is now available for free on GOG.

New California is set in 2260 and follows a resident of Vault 18 who must navigate a civil war within the vault while the wider California wasteland is torn apart by faction conflicts between the NCR, Raiders, and Enclave.

The mod adds an alternate starting location with its own main quest, professionally studio-recorded voice acting, a large new worldspace, and up to 8 companions whose availability depends on the player’s choices. Two new radio stations with original music round out the package. The roughly 8-12 hour experience requires the Fallout: New Vegas Ultimate Edition as the base game.

Fallout: New California comes packed with the game for the smoothest installation and requires no external script extender configuration.
