Thimbleweed Park 2: sequel from Ron Gilbert announced

Ron Gilbert has announced a sequel to Thimbleweed Park on his Grumpy Gamer blog: Thimbleweed Park 2.

The game is coming to Windows, Mac and Linux, among others via Steam and GOG. Much of the original team is returning, including Mark Ferrari, Gary Winnick, David Fox, Octavi Navarro and Robert Megone. Asked how a sequel makes sense given the first game’s ending, Gilbert only replied: “That’s half the fun!”

Thimbleweed Park 2 is not really a sequel, not really a prequel.

A development blog with regular updates is planned, and fans are already discussing a companion podcast. No exact release date yet, but early 2028 is the target.
