HATE Arena: v0.0.2 update adds master server, new game modes and lightgun

HATE Arena, the open-source arena shooter built on the Cube Engine, has been updated to v0.0.2. The release brings a live master server, two new game modes (Infected and TDM), a new lightgun weapon, fully reworked gun meshes, and RCON-based server administration tools.

  • Master server is now up and running, with one main gameserver that rotates through gamemodes and maps. If you do not see any servers in the server list, try “Update server list from master server” under the Multiplayer menu. The server also includes bots for if no one’s online.
  • Added lightgun
  • Polished gun meshes and completely replaced rifle, shotgun, and railgun meshes
  • Added “infected” gamemode
  • Added “tdm” gamemode and made “dm” the base gamemode
  • Added several new maps (pain, pills, etc…)
  • Added server side bots
  • Fixed spectating camera view position bug
  • Made godrays intensity configurable with godraysintensity cvar.
  • Various scoreboard scaling and rendering fixes
  • Command bar rendering fixes
  • Fixed bug with HUD still showing in screenshot mode
  • Added server administration functionality, completed RCON features (/ban, /kick, /list, maxping and numerous other configuration options via serverconf.cfg)
  • Added various visual FX to water, include bubble particles and better water subdivisions/quads.
  • Made /msglimit a configurable option for top left message bar length/limit.
  • Disabled teamkilling altogether. No mode allows for teamkilling.
  • Added dynamic crosshair that expands/contracts via interpolation.
