Today we’ve updated the partner dashboard with more information about how games perform on Steam Deck. This data is currently available to titles that are Steam Deck Verified. You can access this information from your partner landing page under Technical Tools > Steam Hardware Compatibility Review.
Framerate distribution The new chart displays a distribution of framerates using data from customers on Steam Decks who opted in to providing framerate data. We believe that this distribution data alongside the average framerate and customer feedback charts will help provide a clearer overall picture of what customers are experiencing with your game on Deck.
Interpreting framerate distribution data A few things to consider when evaluating data from the new chart:
- Steam Deck LCD max frame rate is 60 FPS, and Steam Deck OLED max frame rate is 90 FPS.
- Customers can adjust the frame limit on their devices, and you may see this show up in your report. For example a game that can consistently hit 90 FPS on OLED will likely still report sessions at lower FPS because some customers are adjusting the frame limit to save battery.
- Some customers may be docked to an external display supporting a higher refresh rate than Steam Deck’s internal display.
- Framerate data includes all sampled time, including segments like loading screens where framerate may drop significantly.
FAQ Where is this data coming from? This data comes from Steam Deck players who have opted in to providing anonymized framerate data. A majority of Steam Deck players have opted in, representing a wide range of games and play styles.
What’s this data for? We’re providing anonymized average framerate, framerate distribution, and user feedback to make it easier to understand how real players are experiencing your games on Steam Deck in the wild.
