Added

  • ASM now talks to the headset through hidraw instead of libusb (Settings → Generic Device → Headset access). ASM used to take the headset’s control interfaces away from the kernel and drive them itself through libusb. Now the kernel keeps them and ASM reads and writes HID reports through /dev/hidraw*: no detaching, reads sized by the kernel from the headset’s own descriptor, and the system keeps showing the battery while ASM runs. If the hidraw nodes cannot be opened, ASM falls back to libusb on its own, and you can choose libusb in Settings if hidraw does not suit your headset. The bug report says which one you chose, which one is really in use, and why it fell back if it did. The udev rules now cover the hidraw nodes, and the packages re-apply them on install.

Fixed

  • “Redirect on disconnect” no longer fires when the headset only looks offline for a moment (#349). Right after ASM re-initialises the headset, its status can read offline before the first real report arrives; ASM moved the default output to your disconnect device on that, with the headset still on. It now waits until the headset has stayed offline for 5 seconds. On one system that needless default-output change was what set off a long PipeWire hang. Thanks @ziggityzack.
