Vermouth wurde in der Version v2.2.0 veröffentlicht.

Vermouth ist ein Spiele-Launcher und -Manager für Linux, mit dem sich Spiele über verschiedene Runtimes wie Proton und Wine starten und verwalten lassen.

Nach dem Sidebar-Installer und den Steam-Shortcuts in Version 2.1.0 dreht sich dieses Release ums Aussehen: Der alte, fest verdrahtete Dark-Mode weicht einem echten Theme-Umschalter unter Einstellungen → Appearance mit getrennten Auswahlfeldern für den normalen und den dunklen Modus. Mit dabei sind 10 Farbschemata (Vermouth Dark, Deep, Tokyo Night, Cobalt, 2077, Rose, Magenta, Sage, Schoolboard, Neon) plus System. Lights Out kehrt als Seitenleisten-Umschalter zurück und wechselt jetzt nur noch das dunkle Theme, ohne den Fenstermodus zu verlassen. Der Big-Screen-Modus schaltet automatisch auf das dunkle Theme.

Lights Out is out, themes are in. A proper theme switcher with a pile of bundled color schemes, replacing the old hardcoded dark-mode hack - now actually working the same way everywhere, not just on Plasma. You know what they say, 6th time’s the charm.

• Theme switcher in Settings → Appearance, with two pickers: Theme for normal windowed mode, and Dark Theme for whatever Lights Out and Big Screen mode should use.
• 10 bundled color schemes: Vermouth Dark, Deep, Tokyo Night, Cobalt, 2077, Rose, Magenta, Sage, Schoolboard, and Neon - plus System, which just follows your desktop’s own scheme.
• Lights Out is back as a sidebar toggle. It now just switches to the Dark Theme without leaving windowed mode - a quick session toggle that always starts off when Vermouth restarts, instead of a saved setting with its own hardcoded palette.
• Big Screen mode applies the Dark Theme automatically for the duration too.
• Added a Buy Me a Coffee link, for anyone who wants to.

Fixes

• Color scheme switching now actually works correctly on GNOME, plain AppImage, and Flatpak - not just Plasma. Turns out that was a deep rabbit hole.
• Returning to the System theme from Lights Out or the Theme picker works reliably on Flatpak now, where it previously just… did nothing.
• Sidebar menu items, the view-type menu, and assorted icons no longer show up unstyled on first open on GNOME/AppImage.
• Fixed a SELinux issue in the local packaging script that could make container-based RPM/DEB/AppImage builds fail to read the repo.

Notes

• If you’re packaging or building from source: this release adds a dependency on KColorScheme (and transitively KConfig) from KDE Frameworks.
