FreeCAD ist eine kostenlose, quelloffene CAD-Anwendung für parametrisches 3D-Modeling, die unter anderem für Linux verfügbar ist.

Laut den Entwicklern ist dies das letzte geplante Maintenance-Release der 1.1.x-Reihe. Enthalten sind unter anderem zwei Sicherheitsfixes für Datei-Verarbeitungslücken, die beim Öffnen präparierter FCStd-Dateien ausgenutzt werden können - ein Update wird allen Nutzern dringend empfohlen, besonders bei Dateien aus nicht vertrauenswürdigen Quellen.

FreeCAD 1.1.4 is the last planned maintenance release in the 1.1.x series. It includes two security fixes addressing file-handling vulnerabilities that can be triggered by opening a maliciously crafted FCStd file.
