The Comeback King ist ab sofort mit nativer Linux-Unterstützung auf Steam erhältlich.

In dem Retro-Boxmanager übernimmt man die Rolle des Managers eines abgehalfterten Boxers im Großbritannien der 1980er und kümmert sich um Geld, Trainer, Gyms und Taktik - kontrolliert den Kampf selbst aber nicht direkt, sondern feuert den Boxer nur von der Seitenlinie an.

Das Spiel ist eine späte Fortsetzung von “Boxing Manager”, einem 8-Bit-Klassiker, den Entwickler Ian Williams Mitte der 1980er für den Spectrum 48K veröffentlicht hat.

In The Comeback King, you’re the manager of a faded fighter battling to win his first championship title. You manage the money, the trainers, the gyms, the tactics - but you don’t control your boxer. During a match, you can shout out instructions (and maybe he’ll follow your advice) and between rounds you can towel him down and patch him up.
