Is anyone else running into this? I've been trying to get the native Linux version working since it's supposed to perform better, but no matter what I do I'm getting severe stuttering and VRR flickering, especially in Act 3 areas.

Im running CachyOS with their default kernel on a Ryzen 7600 and an RX 7900 XT. I've tried recompiling shaders, reinstalling drivers, lowering all settings to the minimum and dropping the resolution to the lowest possible to narrow down the cause but so far I've had no luck.

At this point I'm wondering if it's a driver issue, something specific to the game or something else completely. Has anyone managed to get it running smoothly on a similar setup?

As the title describes. I would like to buy a new controller(primarily for emulation, but sometimes I do play some indie games) The steam input doesn't really matter to me. But my main priority is some proper support on linux without too much tinkering.
Another thing about budget is I am kinda strictly supposed to be spending 30 USDs only.

Hi all, how can I map my keyboard keys to my mouse buttons? What I want to achieve is: when I press one of the thumb mouse buttons (button 4), I want it to be registered as a keyboard key (CTRL) instead.

Why do I want this? I like to play MMO's with my modifier keys (shift/ctrl/alt) on my mouse thumb buttons. So I can press mouse button 4 + 1, instead of ctrl + 1. I have tiny hands, and big hand stretches are not comfortable for me.

On windows, this solution was simple: Open the Logitech gaming hub, select the specific app, assign the keyboard key to the mouse button and you where done.

I haven't found an easy solution yet in Linux, CachyOS btw. I tried xbindkeys and xdotool, but I had no success.

Hello, as the title describes every game I tried running in steam launch. The blue button which says launching and all the correct texts appear but when the game windows should pop up the button goes back to green and says launch again. The only exception is counter strike but that runs very poorly. So far I have tried Trailmakers, Doom, Phasmophobia and escape the backrooms.

I am using debian 12 An rx580(temporary placeholder) And a 9600x As well as 32gb ddr5 ram

So i have a Logitech G920 and it generally works fine under linux but it looks the driver is expecting uninverted force feedback. Which is a problem because on Windows the Logitech driver expects ffb to be inverted and some games like Euro Truck Simulator 2 just assume that if you have a Logitech wheel ffb should be inverted and don't give a way to uninvert it.

So is there a way to make the driver accept inverted ffb just like on Windows or at least somehow uninvert ffb in ETS 2 because most other games just give a checkbox to not invert/invert ffb but ETS 2 for some reason doesn't.

Hey, there's this weird thing I have with gamescope.

I have it installed as a deb, and I want to use it with Steam, also installed as a deb. If I do gamescope -- firefox : no issues, there is the gamescope window and all.

But as soon as I do, in steam, gamescope -- %command% : the game doesn't start (and I tried many). And I can add arguments or remove them : same issue. whether it's gamescope -W 1920 -H 1080 -f --hdr-enabled -- %command% or just gamescope -f --%command% : the game doesn't launch.

It never happened to me before, isn't it odd ? I'd expect that if I had steam flatpack or else, but everything is deb here.

Ubuntu 25.10, Wayland, NVIDIA.

I am trying to stream my games on steam link and steam games work just fine but for some reason when I run Heroic games (added to my steam library) the game runs on the host but it isn't displayed on the streaming device. Has anyone found any success with streaming Heroic games?

I know it works on windows. I use debian or fedora depending on the time. I run most of my games in bottles. In my country 9060 xt 16gb is 3x more expensive than rx 7600 right now.

Specifically interesting in playing indiana jones and the great circle, cyberpunk, and kingdom cum 2.

i heard VMs support GPU passthrough which i also heard makes gaming through VMs viable. unfortunately i have encountered a game i would like to play that is totally nonviable to play even through wine/proton, and it's not linux's fault. is it viable? what programs should i use? ive heard of virtmanager, is that a good option?

Hi, long time Windows user but W11 is way to intrusive for my taste, so I installated and updated Zorin OS 18 (seperate SSD, dual boot) and I'm very impressed. I'm having some trouble with Steam/Arc Raiders which sometimes play fine but half the time is looses connection. I can reconnect, but unless some ARC or Raider has wasted me, I can play again but then it looses connection again. You get the picture. My PC in connected to the router via cable, and it never happens in Windows. Any ideas for a fix would be highly appreciated (could it be the UFW...)?

Hello everyone! I'm on Linux Mint 22.1 CInnamon and I wanted to try out Mesen2, but it won't boot at all. After first extracting the 'Mesen' file and clicking it, the initial configuration window pops up normally and I set it to install in a folder on my desktop & generate a shortcut as well. After installing everything, clicking the desktop shortcut doesn't do anything. It doesn't matter if I install in my user profile, the problem is still the same. My SDL2 is v2.30.0. Any ideas?
